It can be busy during the weekend to find a parking spot so might need to park lower down the road. The views towards El Escorial are amazing. We picknicked under the shade of the trees. Highly recommended.

Although La Silla isn't that easy to find (especially if you aren't coming by car), it's worth it! The views of the valley, mountains, and town of El Escorial are fantastic - bring your camera! There's also a small bar serving basic drinks and food....More

It was a “normal” hot day so we opted to drive up to the entrance instead of taking the short walk up the hill. Once parked, you can see the vistas and the giant boulders are almost in your face. Don’t know if the legend...More

... not where Felipe watched the monastery being built from but a Vizigoth altar. Not trying to take anything away from it, actually when I found out it made it all the more interesting. Beautiful place and well worth a visit!

It's a place to admire sierra Guadarrama & El Escorial landscapes there are some bars and restaurants very close, they offer some sandwiches, and drinks. The importance of the place is that you can see El Escorial or even Madrid from a very special place.

Went to Felipe's chair for a brief visit and the wonderful views. Did not disappoint. Took a taxi because three in our party were not able to do the long walk, but worth the taxi fare.
