What a fantastic Palace that was started by Philip 2nd and the Bourbons, who planned the city, parks and gardens which turned the area into a Royal Site for holding court in spring every year until 1890. Do take a guide or use the headphones...More

Some more of what we've seen in the Royal palace of Madrid. Many nicely decorated rooms, pretty grounds. You can't take pictures inside which I can't really understand though.

This is an easy day trip from Madrid by train, the palace itself is about 10 minutes by foot from the station. The tour is pleasant but unfortunately is restricted to the royal apartments and we found the tour somewhat dry because of the lack...More

Beautiful palace, unfortunately I could not explore it as I wanted to as I had a screaming toddler with me. But Isobel II - you go girl. If anyone is into feminism please look into her.

Sorry~ I just saw your question. No, you can't take a picture inside, but only in the gardens and courtyard.
