This must be the best beach in Athens.
It is a bit rural, without much noise from traffick or people passing. It's calm and perfect. The beach is not big, but has the best sand. The beach is much better than Akanthus in every way - it is both free enterance AND it is so SANDY... I love it! It is also much calmer. There are a couple of small tavernas where you can eat, and there are restrooms. The whole beach is so sandy and nice and there is a little walk you can take, and a little island to swim out to. Did I mention enterance is FREE? You only pay for a sunbed if you want one! I never choose another beach than this one. Even if I have to take a cab from my hotel.

This beach is amazing. I used to visit it as a child, 60 years ago. It hasn't changed at all. The beach is sandy and the bunker is still there just a few hundred meters in the sea. There is a fabulous restaurant on the beach , Maḯstros, now where we spent away many hours over brunch and dinner watching the world go by and listening to the lapping water on the shore. Heaven!

Nice beach with clear water and sand totally for free. Toilets and showers on the back for free as well. Place to buy cappuccino fredo in the nearby. Ancient ruins in the nearby on the island in the water. We loved it, went there with tram nr 5 from centre of Athens and then with bus nr 122 and we dont regret it, want to go again even though it takes around 1h 20 minutes. We reccommend :)

This beach was a fantastic beach getaway from the city. I wouldn’t say the beach itself is beautiful (smaller area to water, sand is ok) but it served its purpose for a couple hours. They have loungers/umbrellas to rent and a restaurant right there. It didn’t feel overcrowded.

The place to be if you would like to witness the apathy of smokers butting out their cigarettes in the sand and leaving their garbage behind. Overall spoilt by human presence. Avoid Athenian beache and go to the islands.

Beautiful day with good weather, summer breeze and we took the car, to have a coffee at the beach. We said hello to a friend who went to the army.

Clean, beautiful and free beach! There is a small beach restaurant you can rent umbrellas and lounge chairs from and order drinks and some food to your seats.

Small stretch of beach near the Divani hotel. You pay for sunbeds if not staying at the hotel. Umbrellas available too. Nice to spend a few hours and can orders drinks and food to eat too. Sea was quite shallow but lovely views.

during the summer nice spot close to athens free or with ticket to swimm and enjoy the whole day clear water deliveries for food or go next to mythos or other restaurant around

Very nice for walking/jogging. You can rent sunbeds and have a nice swim, but there are no showers or toilets. The coffee bar is closed and hope to be ready untill summer.

How do I get to this beach from the airport? Is it a far/expensive taxi ride?thanks!

Many thanks for your answer. Brrr, it would be, however, interesting to find out how much much less the temperature would be ? Is any chance to swim a few hours in the middle of the day ?
