This place has been renovated and it is a great place for bird watchers, walkers and people looking for a good and relaxing walk. There is also yoga, birwatching and nature classes. You wont be disappointrd.

Came down from Houston for a 2 day workshop but it was so peaceful, I stayed a week. They have everything here from the different trees, insects, landscape, etc. Everyone is knowledgeable and answers questions that you did not know you had.

As birders who regularly come to the valley, we had never discovered this park before. With the report of a rare bird, we found the location and spent about an hour there one Sunday morning. It is a lovely spot, with two types of forest habitat, and some cactus gardens. While we did not find many birds at this time... More

It's the best place to go explore the trails and do yoga or tai chi on weekends. It's a little nature in the midst of the city.!

Took the kids to the center and was a little lost while exploring as there weren't any signs to direct us around. The kids took it to be an adventure, trying to find our way out of the maze-like area, hence the 3 stars. Didn't see very many birds except for a few sparrows. Lots of insects, cacti and beautiful... Amazing place to enjoy nature! It is right in the middle of the city and you will be surprised how much wildlife there is. So many species of birds, insects, and flowers. Free of charge, but please donate to this wonderful park.

I have brought my children here when they were young, my neighbor's father brought her here as a child in the 1930's, and the magic is STILL here. The oldest trees are here, the natural habitat for our local and visiting creatures are here. It is a complete eco system that has survived in the middle of a growing city.... More

This urban nature site is a great birding spot. The native thornscrub habitat is loaded with birds. Small water features are interspersed amongst a half mile of flat, easy walking trails. A must see for McAllen nature enthusiasts!

Great place to learn more about the migrating butterflies and birds. Staff worked well with the audience on tour. Prepare to spend half your day, at least, during migration season.
