Small, intimate museum. Not really any famous works of art, but a nice collection for a small town. Best of all, it's FREE.

Michelson Museum is a gem for Marshall. It is a beautiful Fine Arts Museum with a wonderful collection of art and amazing exhibits year round. It is very rare to find the quality of this museum in a small town. It is a definite must-see for the community and visitors to Marshall.

Enjoyed the art here - their permanent collection, plus traveling exhibits. The staff was very welcoming.

The Michelson Museum of Art is located in downtown Marshall, in an old building north of the old Harrison Courthouse Square. Admission is free. They have different exhibits throughout the year. On this visit in the middle of December they had an exhibit of watercolors by various artists. There must have been over 50 works of art, all well done.... More

We decided to visit the Michelson Museum of Art which was established in 1985 to care for the works of the late Russian-American artist, Leo Michelson, while we were passing through Marshall and we were so very glad that we did. We were especially fortunate to see the traveling exhibit of American Watercolors from the American Watercolor Society just prior... More

We stopped by not expecting much. To our pleasant surprise we really enjoyed our time. We can not wait to go back again. There is no charge to enter, but donations are accepted. I defiantly suggest that you stop by.

The exhibit rooms are large and nicely laid out. There are chairs so you can sit and contemplate the pictures/sculptures. The building is quiet and small enough that you can see the exhibits in a short visit, or relax and stay a while.
