Nice little park with lake, parie dogs, nice horse statues. At entrance a nice tractor history outdoor display of old farm equipment. Nothing to much but a relaxing area to stretch out and enjoy some peace

We did a lot here from picnicking with the ducks to watching prairie dogs to seeing sculptures. Diverse and fun with lots to do.

This is probably the nicest park in Lubbock - if you're looking for a scenic view. I would not visit at night as it's not on the best side of town. But, is great for playing golf frisbee, running, golfing, or just enjoying a peaceful afternoon. I wish this area were more built up and the landscape is much prettier than West Lubbock.

I love the parks especially this one but I noticed there is TONS of trash litterally "everywhere" stuck in all the brush and in the lakes around all the edges and stuck to the bottom of the lakes and the streams that run through them as well. I am a californian and only have been here 3 yrs but I have never seen as much trash in parks as I have here. Its jaw dropping, and Im shocked.I see signs on texas hwys that say "Don't mess with texas" and it pertains to littering.Really?? The people who take care of the park are always sitting in their trucks or riding around and doing minimal clean up,trees cut and grass mowed but no trash pick up.The trash can over flow all day from previous days and nights of partying and beer drinking from ppl even tho its NOT ALLOWED.Its NOT policed very well, there have been more than a couple of dead bodies found, people murderd.Women run after 10 pm at night out there and its easy to get mugged, attacked ect ect. These are issues i would think are very important to people here.I for one would love to see the city parks and security better taken care of,Its a shame to litter so much beauty and to make the wild life live with it is so very sad looking.

When we moved to Lubbock, we were warned to avoid this very large park because it is "dangerous." While there might be baddies in the park after dark, during the day it is simply beautiful. The old growth trees, creeks and ponds, and many picnic areas make it one of the city's most beautiful places to spend recreation time. The many joggers and walkers along Cesar Chavez, along with a conspicuous police presence also makes it a great place to exercise without fear of hassle.

Located riverside, lots of activities held there. My favorite are the Moonlight Musicals held June, July, and August on Fri. and Sat. evenings. Prices very reasonable for great family entertainment. Lots of talent in Lubbock. Call 770-2000 for more details

McKenzie Park is a large, meandering park with a few little lakes interspersed as well as an amusement park and golf course. It is a great place to take a leisurely stroll or play a game of frisbee golf. Fishing is allowed in the little lakes (ok, more like ponds.).

Walking paths, play grounds for the kiddies, fresh air. Great place.

What a great place to bring the family! The amphitheater was well situated and the volunteers were of great assistance from finding a seat to retrieving play bills.

Even from the top-most row, the sounds and views were fantastic!

Throughly enjoyed the Seuss-vibe! My 4-year-old son danced and my granddaughter couldn't stop doing cartwheels she was so excited. The cast meet-and-greet was fabulous!

Would highly recommend for anyone looking for fun in the Hub!

These darling little guys MADE the trip! They love those baby carrots so pick some up before you go and throw some out to them. Thank you, K. N. Clapp for Mackenzie Park and for Prairie Dog Town!

Didn't manage to see all of the park but the bits we did see looked really lovely. Spent ages at Prairie Dog Town watching the antics of the babies and adult at play, eating and obviously watching out for danger. It was so interesting to hear the different noises they made especially when something upset one prairie dog. He appeared to be warning the others to be on their guard although we couldn't any danger, unless it was us!
