Laredo visitors are talking about the new Planetarium at the Texas A&M International University campus. The building itself, a pyramid-shaped glass structure, is quite impressive. The facility offers shows for the entire family and boasts one of only seven Digistar-3 systems in the nation. This high-tech equipment allows for the projection of incredible images on the planetarium dome. Shows range from wild rides through millions of stars and galaxies, to thrilling visions of the future set to the beat of modernistic sounds. The planetarium show prices are affordable. Laredo greets the future at the TAMIU planetarium - and proves that science can be fun.

This is one of the most interesting places in Laredo, Texas. They are film nights like The Egyptian pyramids, Zula Patrol: Down to Earth, Lamps of Atlantis, and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon". It is a wonderful, educational explanation of planets, stars, and constellations. My children were fascinated by the show. The staff are courteous, pleasant, and helpful. There is plenty of parking, and it makes for a good time for couples, families, and anyone interested in the stars and planets.

This planetarium has a terrible focal length telescope. If people are talking about the movies being great, sure. It beats your house. This "University" doesn't even have the decent budget to place on sciences. The telescopes they have are if I am not mistaken second hand. This University and its studies are a joke.

Before this planetarium we would have to go to Houston, TX to view this films. Watching the movies in a half-dome screen is truly an awesome experience!!

Loved the universe and "7 Wonders of the World". And it was in Spanish. Beautiful.

This place offers unique entertainment. We saw Pink Floyd's The Wall and it was just fantastic. You get to lay back and relax and enjoy the music and the visual effects. It feels like you are moving a lot of the time and a lot of the time it's like you are right there in the scene. It's well worth the low admission price.

Older kids (school aged) will really enjoy the experience and learn from it. It is too much for many children under 5.

We had never been to Laredo and were looking for interesting things to do to kill time after a business meeting. Checked out the Planetarium and loved it! Very peaceful - we had our two month old with us and he slept through the entire thing. It would be a great place to take kids 5+, but also very entertaining for adults! Recommend space or ocean shows.

The TAMIU Planetarium is a great place to take young children and teenagers. It is an intellectually stimulating place sure to spark your child's imagination. It is also situated at a University which can also be inspiring in planting the seeds for a college education.
