One of few places to visit in Laredo. It is a historical cathedral in old town. It isn't awe inspiring but one of the places to visit if you are stopping in Laredo. Quick jump out of the car and move on place. This and the lake are really the only two attractions in town. Right near old rio grand museum if you are interested.

Unfortunately, the Cathedral is closed due to restorations. I suppose it's good that the building is getting a makeover. However, not a good time for tourists to come to enjoy the building.

Located in the heart of downtown Laredo this Catholic cathedral is very beautiful and historic in nature. It dates back to the 1700's and is still in use today for daily masses. It is located next to the Republic of the Rio Grande museum which is another historic building dating back to the same time period. If history is your interest you won't be disappointed by visiting here.

We visited while 6 o clock mass, it was semi-full , yet very lovely.
I loved the cathedral windows and walked into the back small room where the had "El santisimo" under a Guadalupe Virgin picture . Also there was a sixteenth cent. painting of the left of that room that took my breath away . Very peaceful and beautiful church.

As you walk up facing the cathedral about several feet from the door you can see the out line on your left facing down of the original location you can just imagine what was it like back then and it was rather small 12 by12 maybe I don't know but I tell you I like to sit in the plaza in front of the church and watch the people pass by ,and many of those who's family have walk the same foot paths as they have.very nice very peaceful .

We visit it on every trip if we happen to be there on a Sunday, we stop to attend mass. It is located right in the center of the old Laredo. There is a beautiful park just in front of it, walking around it or just sitting there is nice and peaceful.

The church is well maintained inside, and inviting. Bright and airy. Felt very free to go inside and look around.

A beautiful church for a wedding or just to visit. Beautiful, beautiful stained glass windows and statuary. Large, but not massive.

Usually attend another church while in Laredo and decided to go to Cathedral this time. Needless to say, it was well worth it. Being new to area we had trouble finding parking around the church until we found out there is a public parking area close by which charges fees during the wk but free on wkends.
