Provide more public access. Access to the lake is limited amd requires a fee. Be sure to have a plan before going, or you will be disappointed. Traffic is terrible. The Lake is not enjoyable as it was 20+ years ago.

Large rock cliffs and beautiful clear water lake. It’s extremely long and covers a lot of area. We have had some luck fishing for white bass and catfish. Perfect lake to take a cruise in the boat or ride the jet ski. The views are spectacular.

I grew up on Lake Travis, located just outside of Austin and have been going there for forty years plus. It is clean, clear, warm, safe, not scary, and just plain fun for all water enthusiasts.

Rent a boat for a day or a week. Do the same with a lakeside condo or hotel. Also, the restaurants there are pretty decent and you are very close to the Hill country galleria for everything else.

Have a great vacation!

The lake is long and narrow, but wonderful for tubing and waterskiing. Plenty of restaurants to boat to for lunch and dinner. Had a great vacation!

Lake was at capacity for water level. Went to Bob Wentz Park and paid 10$ per car. Set up under the yellow pavilion along the lake shoreline. Was able to walk into lake with no issue. I wear water shoes because with the water level at capacity there is debris and other things you can't see. Water was clean and cool. Stayed the day on July 3rd and enjoyed it. Restrooms and volleyball courts onsite. We had tubes and other inflatables and used electric pump to blow them up.

This is a huge and beautiful lake. I did a weekend getaway with the girls to this lake. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The homes off of the lake are just magnificent. We rented a boat and two jet skis. There was a little overcast which caused a wonderful and pleasant breeze. My party stayed in one of the condos off and the lake was in our back yard. I will definitely be back to the lake to visit with my young daughter. This is a great place for couples, families, girls getaway, or if you want to just go and be somewhere solo.

The price entrance cost is pretty steep to just step next to the lake, it is better to do a water activity in other lake entrance or to go to the Oasis for the views.

It's not actually too far...unless you get stuck in traffic on RM 2222; but the drive to the lake is very scenic. Any of the overlooks above Lake Travis will astound you at its size & beauty. Whether it be at "high water" or "low water," the views are stunning. (Have been going here for many years on visits down from New England, but never thought to review it.)

Bring good walking shoes. Bring a picnic lunch. Bring kids. Bring the pups. Bring a good area map. You won't be disappointed.

In places, you can get down to the water level. Much boating & sports activities going on, on the lake. Tried swimming but the water is a way tad chilly & the dammed up Colorado River runs cold, unless you've got a wet suit or are a polar bear.

It's a beautiful body of water to sail on. Lot of friendly people on neighboring boats and on the shore. Great when the weather's not too hot!
