The steam engine was the most worthwhile part of the ride. We found the narration completely unnecessary, as the gentleman spoke so fast he was unintelligible. Stopping twice, for 10 minutes of cannon-fire without understanding the story made this a very LONG 35 minutes.

A great idea and layout for a train ride. Lots of history in this area. The owner, Don, is very personable and knowledgeable.

This is a pretty neat railway with interesting history. They usually plan seasonal rides with a good history of the railway and town. Very inexpensive. Only downfall is their hours aren't tourist friendly so always call before planning a trip to make sure their running!

Visited for the Jefferson Civil War Days event. On the Saturday we had attended a battle reenactment on the grounds, which was an average event. On the Sunday we took the train, and the reenactors manned guns on a front wagon of the train and...More

They take you down the track maybe 1/2 of a mile if that and you get off and walk down and watch them feed some alligators. Then they turn around and come back. 15 bucks a ticket. For what you get $5.00 would be about...More
