My oldest is currently a Boy Scout. We thought it would make for a cool merit badge as we were in town visiting family. I truthfully didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised. First off, the museum is free! Yes, free. They do ask for donations but you can't beat free. They have a giant room with many Normal Rockwell... More

I had to stop in and check out the Museum. I was impressed at free admission on Sundays and Mondays. I enjoyed the Norman Rockwell Gallery. There is lots of interactive kid stuff to do. I enjoyed the full service scout shop. I'm sad to learn that the museum is closing and moving to Philmont in May17.

When you come here, you don't expect much, as it is basically hidden within the quiet community of Las Colinas. But upon entering it, you realize how much money went into it. It is beautifully put together, with well lit displays, amazing artifacts, historical information about the Scouts, former members, and the like. It is like a time capsule taking... More

The Boy Scout museum was very nice. Lots of information. The film was interesting. Displays were nice. A great place to view Norman Rockwell paintings. The guide told us a lot of facts. However they are moving to Philmont NM. So you will have to see it there.

My husband is the Cubmaster and I am the Committee Chair for our son's Cub Scout Pack. We are so glad we came to Irving to experience this wonderful museum. The Norman Rockwell collection was really phenomenal. We had a personal docent who gave us a great history of each painting. We learned so much along the way. The museum... More

Great setup. I love the timeline theme and the modern touch to the history of our scoutings heritage. We arrived late in the evening, but were able to see a great deal of the artifacts and facility. We plan to visit again in the morning. I love how my sons were able to see more and learn more about why... More

I had a couple hours to kill while waiting to check in to my hotel, and checked the GPS to see if anything was close. I didn't realize there was a National Scouting Museum, but found I was only a few minutes from it. As a former boy scout and scoutmaster I found it very interesting. The first room has... More

We had no idea this museum existed. We were in the Dallas area for a wedding and visiting relatives. I picked up a brochure at the hotel for this museum and was excited. We had a little extra time for sightseeing on Sunday (it's free on Sundays!). What a wonderful surprise this was. My oldest son is an Eagle Scout.... More

Along with a friend we visited the museum after business meetings. The facility, next to BSA headquarters, is very large and houses a number of static displays, a theater stating, memorabilia and art. The Rockwell and Csatari wing has the largest collection of Scout artwork, from old original Boys Life covers to the latest from Joe Csatari....really remarkable. The camp... More
