The homestead/manor house though privately occupied allows visitors to wander the grounds for only a $3 donation per person. A magnificent property, probably the gem of the west, has large beautifully maintained grounds and gardens including veggies. So much history has passed here and a...More

I went there during the Big Sky Festival. I was looking forward to it but was a little disappointed actually. You can only visit the garden, not allowed to enter the building. The garden, however, is similar to the Sydney Government House at the Royal...More

I have to admit that I went here because its where the 80's mini-series Return to Eden was filmed, but came away with so much more. A real beginning sense of what Australia's history is about and a real picture of the remote expanse of...More

Not sure on free camp, but the showgrounds in Jandowae is where we camped, and it was very cheap. In fact, we had the entire grounds to ourselves for only $15, including hot showers. I think it was 20-30 mins away.
