Mercer Arboretum's gardens focus on plants and trees that grow well in the Houston area. It's always been a great place to visit, especially in early spring when the most beautiful flowers, plants, shrubs and trees are in bloom. It is often the sight used for wedding photos. I recommend the Arboretum for all ages. You can spend as much... More

Evidently, some flooding in May 2016 wiped out a very good portion of the gardens and only a very little remains. All of the back areas by the little lake are closed. Banana trees, palms and tropical areas are also closed. Looks like it'll be a long road to recovery. It was a wonderful place, before.

Fun place to visit with kids in the spring when all the flowers are blooming. The park areas are great too with several playgrounds and picnic areas. Many trails to walk as well.

Love this place. Scenic and not crowded. No admission fee. Plenty of parking. Lots of photo ops. Back half where the pond was is closed off and under construction until 9/17 due to flooding in 2016.

There are two sides. One side is mostly picnic areas with nice tables, grills, play area and pavilions. Many hiking trails as well. The Gardens are located across a major street but a red light helps relocating easy. I loved the easy, mostly level pathways, the many, frequent benches, the ponds, the excellent labeling of plants and trees, and the... More

The Mercer arboretum is one of our favorite places to visit. We have taken some beautiful photos here, and the grounds are simple pleasure.

There are new things growing with the changing seasons and they have been changing some of the gardens too. I haven't been in a few months but last time I was there they have lots of room for new gardens between the main gardens and the turtle pond and bamboo garden. They have been filling it in slowly with new... More
