We strolled around the Theater District after a good lunch at the Downtown Aquarium.

The Theater District features Jones Hall, the Wortham Center, Alley Theater and the Bayou Music Center.

In the center of the Theater District is the Jones Party on the Plaza. My wife has seen Salsa musicians like Tito Rojas here. Our Lady Peace has played here before.

We have seen some great shows and musicals like Very Merry Pops, Peter Pan and the Christmas Carol in the nearby theaters.

My favorite spot is the Bayou Music Center. I have seen a wide range of bands from the Smashing Pumpkins to Creed and Staind here.

The Theater District is a great area in Houston

What an incredible place that Houston has...several wonderful modern performing arts venues all in one area along with entertainment and great dining.

Wow, what a large group of important theaters! One of the largest in the world. So it is a center of entertainment for this very large city. Lots of good architecture here, but the traffic can be congested.

Revention is a rather modern theater that attracts a younger crowd. It is amenable to theater in the round (saw one and it was well done). Not so much for floor seats - they use folding chairs and there is no height difference so you may not be able to see as well if you are short. Bathrooms are clean. Food and drinks - there is a line but it goes pretty fast. They need to communicate better what is available at each bar - one said beer and wine only but water was also available. The upper deck area is not great for handicapped - I was there on crutches and it was tricky. Its a good venue just know what to expect

Houston is blessed with an excellent theater district where one can enjoy musical productions, the ballet, the opera and the symphony.

We recently attended the Nutcracker, which is a fantastic new production.

There are a number of theatres in this area but they all seem to look very bland and uninteresting with little footfall at the time we were there

Downtown has construction here and there, roads closed here and there and even though the city tried to revitalize downtown, it just gets ok when they have festivals of course you have to pay entrance fee, not worth it.

We've enjoyed going downtown whether it be Broadway Series, The Alley, Theater Under the Stars or The Houston Symphony. Parking was a breeze underneath the plaza and they have a good crew getting cars in and out. A little difficult and slow at times when all venues are open but this night moved very well. Always a pleasure to enjoy the arts in Houston.

The Theater District has it all: multiple stages and concert halls as well as plenty of dining choices. For music there's Jones Hall, the Wortham Center, with Brown and Cullen Theaters. There's the Hobby Center where most major musicals are staged, and there's also the Revention Center (formerly known as the Verizon Center), where many rock acts perform. Beneath it all is expansive underground parking -- unless you drive a Lexus, which gets you free parking at the Hobby Center. There are literally dozens of dining choices within easy walking distance as well.

I love the theatre and make a regular trip to see a place or just walk around. There are sculptures all around the theatre district and you are in walking distance from eateries.
