There is just something to this very large, peaceful place. I try to stop by several times a year - especially when I am alone and just want to walk and meditate. And then you always have the visual of the nearby Menil Collection to...More

This won't take you long to go through, but it's definitely worth a visit. I recommend reading up on Rothko and how this chapel came to be. Google it, and it'll make your visit much more fulfilling

Lovely place to visit, and spend some time meditating there if you're so inclined. Very peaceful, and the grounds are nice.

Stark and minimalist but peaceful. Worth noting if coming by train from downtown to alight at Walker rather than (as we did) Museum District. Based on our experience may not resonate with teens.

I'd heard of the Rothko Chapel for many years. I finally went here and I was underwhelmed. I will go back in hopes of finding whatever it is that draws people to this place.

The Rothko Chapel is beautiful and restful space in the heart of downtown Houston - great to see such a mixture of creeds just being still together.
