I visited here alone one March evening just after 6 p.m. and the park was fairly quiet except for some skateboarders, a few tourists speed walking through and a family taking Quinceanera photos. I stayed near the old buildings rather than venture down the hillside...More

Lots of old buildings from around Texas in a park like setting. Lovely pond with ducks. One of the few remaining confederate statues left. Spirit of the Confederacy. Quite a relaxing venu in the heart of downtown.

Nice place for a little walk on a pleasant day. Also the site of various festivals. A bit difficult to find parking, but if you're already downtown worth a visit.

A lovely peaceful park right in the city - delightful. Early houses etc give an insight into the early years of Houston. A nice surprise (and not advertised enough) is a memorial to the loss of USS Houston in World War II.
