My husband and I spent a pleasant 30 minutes in the museum on the 4th floor of the Rosenberg Library today. One room had some nice Indian artifacts, another had a timeline of Texas history, and another was filled with Galveston history. It was all very interesting and well worth the trip. The library itself is beautiful with marble floors... More

This beautiful old building and library is the legacy of a Galveston pioneer...named Rosenberg! Not only is it a repository for books, and so enriches the community (I am a GREAT believer in, and user of, public libraries) but it has very interesting and informative permanent exhibits on a number of facets of Galveston history. I was especially interested in... More

The 4th floor is like a free museum. A must see for families who want to teach Texas history. We loved the exhibits and the information provided about the history of Texas.

We mainly wanted to go to this library to get more information on the 1900 hurricane. We were not disappointed. They had a looping video with many pictures of the 1900 hurricane. They also had other points of interest in the library.

A nice visit with historic displays and rooms on the Museum levels. A Swiss imigrant who gifted Galveston with a Library, Monument and City Fountains.

The Library contains not only books but this outstanding museum which contains many artifacts and collection from the areas and residents. The history of Galveston is well presented with detail of those who were prominent in the city. Also the documentation of the 1900 storm that killed 6000 in a matter of seconds.

We found the history of Galveston display on the fourth floor of the library very informative. It was just big enough--not overwhelming in its detail but not just superficial or purely boosterish. There is a special library collection of materials on Texas and Galveston history for those who wish to explore more.

My Time in Galveston revolved around my restoration of the 1900 Monument for the Heroes of the Texas Revolution. The 74 foot Monument of Granite and Bronze is a great masterpiece of the Architect, sculptor Louis Amateis, his works adorn the Grand Central Terminal in NY and much more circa late 1800 to his death in 1913. His College in... More

This is a really nice library for the size of Galveston. It has a good history center as well as a small museum. The museum is worth a visit, although it would be a short one.
