Our group recently sailed the Liberty of the Seas and had a great experience on the ship but horrible experience getting on and off the ship. Clearly this port is not capable of handling two large ships at the same time. We sat in traffic...More

Only passed through here to get on a ship for a 7 day cruise. Really didn't see much of the town or spend any time here, but we were able to fly into Houston, then catch a ride to the port for departure. It was...More

Maybe the least attractive port we've cruised out of. To it's credit, we did move through boarding very quickly (we are frequent flyers, though). Warning - my beloved state of Texas charges a stiff import fee on all cigarettes brought back.No allowances.

We always leave out of Miami and thought we would change it up. We left on Carnival Freedom. It seemed congested and much slower and chaotic on both our departure and arrival. Port authority did not let our ship into port upon our arrival due...More

Port of Galveston is one of the easiest ports to be able to get on a cruise. The wait is never long. We have always been on the ship by 11 or 11:30.

Recently Cruised on the Carnival Breeze from this port. We parked at Galveston Park N Cruise, which was top notch, they provided transport on golf carts for luggage and people to the street corner directly across from the port. We rolled bags across to port,...More

If you are driving in the day of the cruise, the parking adjacent to the cruise terminal mentioned by Angela is the easiest and works quite well. Follow your instructions to the ship and then they will direct you to the... More

Yeah there is off site parking that will shuttle you to the ship. But I'd park right at the Port. Like $10.00 a day
