    Fun for families
Very cute amusement park. My 13 and 14 year old daughters had fun. We went on a Tuesday evening in July and the lines were small or non existent. The Ferris Wheel was great and we got some cool photos of Galveston. There is a parking garage across the street that is a close walk to the entrance.

Fun but expensive for what it is.
This was a fun amusement park but the best rides were closed due to wind. We had a blast but in my opinion it was a little pricey for what you get. We got to the park at 4 and we were ready to head out by 6. Spent $175 for 6 people. They had rides for smaller kids and rides for older kids/adults. The roller coaster and sky swing were both closed due to the wind. Most of the other ride that were open were spinning rides so this may not be the park for you if you can’t handle tea cups and other rides that spin a bunch.

    Great for families.
Overpriced. $23 to walk around. Find parking outside, remember to pay otherwise find a parking lot and walk. The stores were closed and yes I know its winter but the pier was pretty busy

    Pretty good, employees were awesome
It was pretty good, but could be a bit better. The log ride stopped in the middle of a ride, and I had been waiting in line for an hour. The Cyclone was pretty cool, but the lines were long even though we got there before it opened. An employee knocked my f,ood over, but I got a free meal, so that's bonus points. The employees were attentive, kind, and patient with us, especially the people at the food stands. They were funny and helped me get a kid back to his parents, and helped me find my friends after. The food was, as expected, expensive and very unhealthy, so 10/10. If you get the Loaded Funnel Cake, do vanilla ice cream, there's chocolate sauce included. Its $5 for a small locker and $7 for a large locker, which is surprisingly cheap. The small lockers are about 1 sqft, and the large ones are double that. Overall, a very fun trip. 8/10

Fun time, not plus size friendly
First I want to say pleasure pier is not plus size friendly-Ferris wheel was down for maintenance so only got to ride the carousel or log water ride. I should have purchased a walk on ticket. My youngest (11) had a fun time. Most rides were open, and he rode a few, but spent most of his time at the bumper cars. Food is pricey and water is $4 a bottle, souvenir cups are 19.99/day unlimited refills. Parking was $15 a cross the road and a very short walk. We purchased the all day ride tickets so we could experience the pier during the day and at night which was perfect. All in all it was a fun experience, but not sure we would go again if in the area.

My friends and I went and bought an all-day pass and within the hour the rides were closed due to the wind. By the time everything re-opened we had to leave so, we asked for a refund but that was refused. It was really expensive for the three of us and we didn't even get to ride a single ride. The lines were long, one drink was incredibly expensive, and it was over-crowded. I would not recommend it if you value your money.

Disappointed. Coming with 5 teenagers who were ready to buy the all day pass. My wife an d I were sitting on the beach right next to it. They told my 14 year old that he could not go because there was not an adult with (nothing on the their website or signs state this). Then they find out that 4 of the rides were shut down for the day (3 of which were bigger "teen" rides that they were looking forward to). When asked if they would be up and running the next day, they could not assure us of that. My teens were smart and saved their money for something else. Plus... my wife and I did not go to watch because you need to pay $10 per person just to walk on the pier without going on anything! If this is the reason for drawing you to Galveston.....look elsewhere.

The only negative in our opinion is they charge for people to walk on it. I say this because my aunt is 80 yrs old and can't ride anything. We came down from Houston so our son could ride rides. She lives in Galveston and she wanted to come see us while we were in town. Therefore, she planned to hang out with us on the pier in between our riding rides just to chat a few minutes. She is on social security and only gets $600/month to live on so she could not afford to pay just to stand around and talk to us. I don't see the harm in allowing someone who can't/won't ride to walk about freely without charge. Heck, they might even buy a drink, some food or pay for a game for their favorite nephew.

There's something about a pier that makes average rides a lot more fun and Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier is no exception. While the Iron Shark roller coaster is fun, the highlight for me was Texas Star Flyer- a "swings on a tower" ride that's even more thrilling because it spins riders two hundred feet into the air above the water and even the Ferris wheel. There's also a decent assortment of other rides from a log flume to more gentle spinning rides. Since admission to the pier is $10, the additional $16 for rides seems like a bargain to me.

Though there are multiple signs informing that face masks are required for Guests and Employees, it IS NOT being enforced. I witnessed 3 employees not wearing face masks and several employees that left their nose exposed. Also very worrisome, I'm guessing fewer than 10% of guests were wearing face masks after entering. We are extremely disappointed because we spent $129 for 4 Full Admission and 2 Walk On tickets then quickly determined that it was not safe to be there.

Ridiculously overpriced. Unable to even walk on pier without paying $10 “entrance fee” per person. My family of 5 wanted to ride Ferris wheel together. That would have cost us $60!!!! For ONE Ride! All day pass for my family would have cost $120 + tax. We did not have all day to spend here so passed. Kids were disappointed and I left feeling guilty we did not fork over the money bc it did look fun. Such a shame it’s not family friendly affordable.

We actually ended up getting a late start so we did not make it to the Pier until after Noon. Everyone but me got an all ride pass; I got a walk on pass with one kiddie ride because all I wanted to ride was the tea cups. With a group of 7 over 48, me, and one under 48, it cost us $250. Was it worth it? Not really.

Large crowds, loud noises, and long wait times should be expected. I waited over 30 minutes for my daughter to ride the Pirate's Plunge. She only got to ride one other ride (Texas Flyer) before we had to leave and she said it was boring.

I took one dot away simply because I never got to ride the Texas Tea Cups. There was a sign up that said the operator was rotating between rides but it was open. We stood in the sun for 15-20 minutes before she looked over and asked if we wanted to ride the ride....which we were in line for. I nodded and she held up a hand to say what I assume was 5 minutes. 10 more minutes, still nothing. At this point 25-30 minutes in direct sunlight with no drink had me feeling like crap so I gave up and gave my ticket away.

Bring a ton of money because you will be paying out of your butt for drinks. it cost about $8-9 for two 20 oz Sprites and $7 for 2 bottles of water.

Would I recommend coming? Maybe if you get early enough, have enough money, and ride everything. Maybe also at night since I hear it's a better site.

We really enjoyed this amusement park. It was my kids' first experience with amusement rides like this. My 10 yr old really enjoyed the swing ride and after riding it with me, she rode it on her own several times. She also loved the ride that is on a circular track that goes up and down as it goes around then it goes backward. I hope her eyes have been opened to the wonderful world of rides now. My 6 yr old LOVED the teacups and wanted to ride over and over. Faster! Faster! Not going to lie, as a big fan of amusement rides, I was really happy to go to Pleasure Pier even though we spent most of our time in the kiddie area. . I was going to ride the roller coaster on my own but, I assume because of Covid, they were only riding 4 per car. The line was too long. Anyhow, There were a lot more rides I would have enjoyed but couldn't go on. They didn't seem particularly worried about Covid. It seemed pretty crowded and the equipment wipe-downs between rides seemed half-hearted. The price is ridiculously expensive for what it is. Half or 2/3 price would have been much more acceptable. We parked across the street behind a surf shop $10 all day which served us well for the afternoon and through dinner.

They need to revise the pricing for this, If you don't want to buy an unlimited pass, along with the 10 entry price then you have to buy individual tickets but there are 3 tiers of tickets $4 $5 $6 tickets depending on the type of ride, who knows that ahead of time, why don't they just sell a single price ticket for all the rides, really dumb idea. Then when we left my parking ticket would not work in the machine at the gate or the machine at the pay kiosk that you can walk too, I left my ticket in the car so it wasn't water damaged or anything. Anyhow, we had to wait like 20 minutes to be let out of the parking lot. I don't know why they just don't use a similar parking system or at least the forms of payment like they do in the strand area of Galveston, that works, the one at the pleasure pier is lame. Anyhow a visit probably worth the trip if you are there, all the employees were great and good customer service.

We had the pleasure of visiting for an evening while in town for a much needed getaway. We are season pass holders to our local amusement park in Minnesota, which didn’t open this year. We were supposed to visit Disneyland, but since that’s still closed we headed to Galveston for some beach time. In need of a few thrills we were so excited to try Pleasure Pier. Very friendly staff and clean restrooms. We didn’t eat here, so I can’t speak to the food quality. Some of the rides were closed due to high winds, which actually I was pleased they take precautions. Kids 10 and 12 really enjoyed it. Would visit again if back in town.
