Since I was a child we have ridden the ferry and watched for the porpoise who swim along. I have to say that this trip we experienced the most angry and disrespectful deck hand we have ever met. She did not like the way I pulled in, and when I tried to adjust she made faces and yelled at us.... More

Overall I give them good marks, the ferry here doesn't have the volume like in Seattle so the boats are on the small side but at least it isn't very far to go and they turn them around pretty fast. Staff always seems friendly to me. It's free and you don't see that much these days with politicians who want... More

We left Houston purposely to ride the ferry to get home. We couldn't have timed it better, as we drove right on the ferry and they blocked my wheels and off we went. The water at the seawall was choppy but it wasn't bad going across this area. I just wish we'd have stopped and bought some bread to feed... More

Going to the port bolivar ferry was an amazing ride . My husband and my kids mostly enjoyed the dolphins in the water . It is a must do when going to Galveston and best part is that it is free!

It takes a little time to go over and back so plan for that. Then enjoy the ride and look for the dolphins!

Great way to cross onto Galveston Island. It makes the trip interesting. Thought we would have to pay but it was free. The gulls ride the wind right next to you making it great fun.

I love being on boats and this ride is no different. Pleasant ride, efficient loading and unloading. Really neat to be on the water and see dolphins swimming along side the boat. Very much enjoyed the ride, would have been better without the fog, but it was that time of year.

This is a great and free boat trip either by car or on foot. We passed the long lines of waiting cars and drove into the car park. We walked on board an upstairs. It was great. We stayed on board for the return trip. It was a lovely sunny trip there and back. Foot passengers get to disembark first... More

Its has been many years since I last took a ride on the ferry. As the title says, Fun and Free no wonder is the top thing to do in Galveston. The kids had a great time. The only complain that anyone could have in my opinion is the wait to get on the ferry but if you are not travelling... More

Fun ride across the mouth of Galveston Bay for you and your car. Free! Bring some bread to throw to the seagulls that trail the boat. Don't expect anything more than some bathrooms on the upper deck. No place to even get a drink of water, much less any other refreshments. Short ride of about 20 minutes at most.
