Fun in Galveston for free!

Take the ferry out and turn around and come back if you are lucky you can see some porpoises. A good hour of fun for no charge.

The ferry is large and the loading and off loading were efficient. The long lines were due to the festival. The ferry is the only way to access Bolivar from Galveston so the lines are long depending on the time you are trying to go across.

The ferry from Galveston to Port Bolivar goes constantly so we barely had to wait. Once the ferry starts you can get out of your car and watch the gulls, pelicans and even dolphins. Very windy, but the breeze felt good on a humid day. The trip is less than 20 minutes and it is free to take your car... More

Drove our truck onto the ferry. Kids loved it. Staff was very efficient on loading and unloading, even a big semi truck with trailer. It's free. A must do if you are on the island.

Enjoyed sharing the ferry ride experience with family. Saw a few dolphins playing. So relaxing and the sea spray is refreshing.

We just rode the ferry with the grandkids, nice seafood restaurant we like to go to. Or just drive on the beach.

There is always a huge wait and never enough boats. The lines are forever long and the system is horrible.

This free ferry service transports cars and passengers effortlessly across the waters separating Galveston Island and the Bolivar Peninsula. The staff is courteous and the operation efficient and we'll run. There will be a line on the weekends, so get there early.
