It’s free and you get to see the dolphins chase the waves. Boliver island has some great sights as well in Ft Crockett and best burgers at the tiki hut. Again... it’s free.

My family decided to visit Galveston and took the trip down the peninsula instead of going through Houston. The ferry ride is very fun once you get on. My daughter saw a dolphin and that made the whole trip for her. It's neat to see...More

We travel this ferry quite frequently and once you're on it's a enjoyable ride, but you must 1st get on. Summer time lines can be quite frustrating especially with the number of folks who all seem to have medical cards and skip to the front...More

This is such a neat, free, fun trip for a family. You drive up, load the ferry, then get out of your car if you like to take in the sun, the pelicans and the beauty of your surroundings. My husband and I go sometimes...More

This is an excellent way to see the bayside of the island and entertain the kids in between other sights and sounds. Make sure to bring some bread to feed the seagulls. It is a short ride across but worth the drive. The dolphins chasing...More

I like to take the ferry as a little pleasure ride. Seeing the dolphins always makes me happy. Everyone minds their own business so it's peaceful to me. When you go for just a good time, if the wait is long it's worth it.

We were on the Port Bolivar Ferry during our trip to Galveston. It was not too long of a ride, perfect for two fidgety boys and their Gramma.

Wow Mind blown at tho amazingly slick and quick ferry trip into Galveston. We saw a wild life such as dolphins pelicans and more. Easy on an easy go off even with a 40 foot RV. And best yet you avoid the traffic going through...More

Took the ferry to see bunkers and crystal beach. It was so cold even by UK standards. It was free to use and take your car. Be prepared to wait to board on the way back.

The wife and I decided to take the scenic way home to north Houston after a weekend on the beach in Galveston. If I had it to do over again, I would have parked on the Galveston side and made a round trip on the...More

I do believe they could accommodate that on the ferry, it may cost something extra.

Don’t drive around! It’s way longer. Drive your car onto the ferry. The ride is not that long. About 20 minutes. As a bonus, you can usually see dolphins during the trip. As others have said, the wait time to board the... More

The lighthouse is closed to the public, and to walk to the fort, in the summer heat, well ... I don't advise it.
