Driving or walking down the seawall is a great way to see the gulf. It was very cool and windy when we were there so we chose to drive. Had fun!

Well I didn't walk along the beach because it was too cold and they have a lot of construction going on but I did walk along the seawall and it was a nice day so it was fun just a lot of walking

The Seawall, has it's history in itself. The view and the sound of the ocean is so relaxing. Lots of people walking on the beach.

We always stay at a hotel on the seawall and have enjoyed most of them. We do visit Galveston often for cruises or just to spend a few peaceful days.

I stayed pretty close to pleasure pier when I visited Galveston. This is one place where you can walk, jog, skateboard, etc all while not having to accommodate or stop for traffic lights or stop signs. It's unobstructed for miles. The beaches were always clean....More

Getting around along Seawall Blvd. is very easy. Lots of great sites, having the seawall to protect the city is of upmost importance. The stand is being replenished constantly. Not real nice beaches like Florida. But walking along the seawall is a very pleasant experience

Yes it is a good beach for families. With a very gradual decline, most of the time the water is shallow a good distance from the beach. Yes you can bring your own umbrellas and chairs.
