The historic Strand is just a great place to hang out; everything from fine art to cheap t-shirts to perfect people watching. Plus boats, cruise ships, the Elyssa.

Quite touristy, but a good place just to walk around. Lots of good bars, shops and restaurants. Historic buildings as well.

The strand was very nice. I loved all the shops, and there were so many things to do near there like the train museum. It was also within walking distance to the dolphin tours.

A lot of stores are the same cheap stuff but some interesting antique stores including st Claire's- the sweetest people! Abit pricey for my taste but amazing buildings if nothing else

The buildings are historic and have been nicely renovated in keeping with their original design and feel. The stores are a mix of standard tourist fare and some really nice local shops. Restaurants also run the gamut from pretty touristy to quite nice. Definitely worth a visit while in Galveston.

The strand is an awesome place and a must see if you are visiting Galveston. There are many places to shop and eat. Along with all the historic building this is what Galveston is all about. Well except for the Ocean. LOL

This historical shopping district in Galveston, TX was quaint and fun. You can buy your drinks in any of the local stores and walk along the strand as you shop. A very unique experience.

Other than a few historic, and interesting buildings The Strand comprises a few tacky shops, average restaurants, and souvenir stores.
