Great restaurants and shops. The people-watching is excellent. I always try to make this a place to visit when in Galveston.

This was our favorite place we explored on our trip. Lots of shopping and fun shops. Lots of places to take nice pictures, or swing in for a drink or something to eat. We took our young son, and he was fascinated with everything. I...More

Our first time to spend some time at the Strand. This is a collection of shops, resturaunts, bars and overall fun area. The Ultimate Touristy area. We really enjoyed walking around and enjoying the Strand. Wear your walking shoes.

The Strand is a great place to spend a couple hours shopping and looking through shops.. They have the normal souvenier shops but also antique shops and great art shops. The roads and curbs can be a bit difficult to navigate if you have any...More

This is a quaint historic area of Galveston that has a "touristy" air to it, but is worth visiting - especially if you can go during non-peak times. Spring and fall are best. There is a lovely historic hotel - Tremont House - a couple...More

The Strand was cool, lots of cool shops to stroll through. We were here in the off season so we had almost every shop to ourselves. That was very cool.

Interesting enough for an hours stroll. A small selection of souvenir shops, restaurants and bars but a push to describe it as an attraction.

Did a little walk around the area before catching our ride back to Houston. The buildings in the area remind me of New Orleans for some reason. Nice shops and and places to hang out in. Antique stores had some interesting things to check out...More

This is a great place to walk around. Lots of shops and all sorts of food. A lot of historical buildings and not far from the cruise ships.

Thank Katherine K

Jennifer, I believe the shops are open 7 days a week. If cruise ships are in port, everything will be open for sure. I didnt spend much time on The Strand in the early evening, other than dining, but the touristy shops were... More
