We went to Fredericksburg for an anniversary weekend. We enjoyed walking down the street and doing some window shopping, but like all tourist towns, most stores were incredibly overpriced. Most of the restaurants on Main are not the greatest; they are convenient but lacking in quality food. Regardless, we did enjoy just walking and looking at what the shops had... More

Love the Main Street. Nice restaurants and lots of art shopping. Love the wine tasting places, the chocolate stores and the lunch and bakery places.

Every year we go to Fredricksburg for our Anniversary. We love spending a day strolling Main Street stopping at shops and finding hidden gems. Beautiful!

We had a great time walking up and down the main street. So many places to eat and shop. Wine tastings as well. There is a shop - food - wine for just about every type of person. Everyone is super friendly AND you can drink your wine/beer while you walk up and down the street (open container is ok!).

Main Street is long and there is an east and west side in case you're looking for specific address. A coupleof wineries have tasting rooms here and even if you want to stretch your legs and people watch you won't be bored!

If shopping or strolling down an historic street is your thing then you will like it. If not may not be for you. A good plus is most of the wineries have wine tasting shops here so you can get your wine on without driving to the Winery out on 290. Side note. I found it odd that most the... More

For a fun get away Fredericksburg is right at the top of the list. There are museums, restaurants, a kazillion wineries, and almost a kazillion shops, and miles of scenic drives. The atmosphere is laid back "Texan" so there aren't any "hyper get outta my way" folks around. Great place for a change of pace.

If you visit Fredericksburg without seeing Main Street, did you even really visit Fredericksburg? My husband and I spent a whole day shopping and eating. Lots of restaurant selections and shops. I especially enjoyed Dogology, which is everything dogs! Awesome little place! Friendly owner.

The main street has some interesting architecture, but the shops are mostly selling the same overpriced tourist trinkets. It is OK to walk down and take a few photos of the architecture, but like most “tourist” main streets, you can find the trinkets elsewhere cheaper. There is a large amount of wine tasting available.
