We thoroughly enjoyed our stop at the Visitors Information Center. The short movie about the town and the area was a good introduction to Fredericksburg and the surrounding area. And the restroom facilities were VERY clean even on the holiday weekend.

There are some additional unique shopping experiences off Main. Smitten is on Auguste not far from downtown. Vintage items, beautifully arranged. Great front porch.

Springtime was a scenic time to visit. We were interested in more natural nature sights, than commercial things, so we weren't in the town for very long. The folks at Grape Canyon tasting room were very helpful, and the lady at the Visitors Center gets a ten-star rating for being helpful!

This is a charming central Texas town. I've come here for over 50 years. Used to be a sleepy little town; center of a gorgeous, very scenic hill-country ranching area. Now a larger, highly active city with lots to offer. Settled in 19th century largely by immigrants from Germany; Admiral Chester Nimitz of WW 2 was raised here. Friendly folks... More

If you are AT ALL interested in German food or culture this is a GREAT place to visit. The museums are fabulous and the food is AMAZING. Also plenty of antique stores and boutiques. The area around the city is BEAUTIFUL.

Friendly, clean, quaint full of upscale shops and great restaurants. We also caught the best music on Tuesday night at Burger Burger. Outdoor seating, front row while we ate a great meal. Fredricksburg is a unique spot, wish so many people did not know about it or we would move there ourselves!

We go once a year as a family and enjoy it so much. Love the many choices you have for wineries. Will be coming back soon.

Fredeicksburg is one of the most special places in Texas. It offers a wide variety of activities and restaurants. The surrounding scenery should not be missed.. Plan on spending 4 or 5 days to take it all in.

Just a few hours drive from Houston,Austin, Dallas or SA - a wonderful trip back in time... great hotels, restaurants and wineries... Perfect for a long weekend. Becker is the total best! No finer Texas world-class winery... so many really wonderful restaurants, and hotels, just DO IT!
