The first Saturday's BRIT sponsors a community Farmer's Market. On a recent visit I picked up some delicious local products. Homemade granola, basil jelly, old south pickles, German bread, olive oil, mojito popsicle. And you can visit the BRIT and nearby Botanic Gardens in one enjoyable morning.

BRIT is so much more than just an herbarium. Though, their million+ plant specimens is nothing to scoff at! One of the few LEED Platinum buildings in the Southwest, BRIT is truly a leader in sustainable building and living.

I would highly recommend this attraction. It's beautiful. The flowers are gorgeous when they're in bloom, and the area around BRIT has informative plaques that tell you what kinds of flowers you're looking at. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for something to do in Fort Worth outside of the Stockyards.

We went on Free day in the arts distric. They were well staffed. We talked to 2 young, well trained botanist. People do all kinds of plant research here. The building is so green equiped with a "living" roof. The building itself is beautifully modern. We had a tour of the herbarium with 1 million specimens stored there. We saw... More
