Took a detour to the Kimbell after seeing signs around town. So glad I stopped in! The Phillips Collection is definitely worth seeing. They did a nice job on the audio tour as well. Super thrilled it was lightly attended - Tues just after lunch,...More

The Kimbell has been a favorite place through the years because of their traveling exhibits, mostly. The architecture is magnificent, and the natural lighting makes exhibits very special. There is a very good bookstore and gift shop as well as an excellent restaurant. Staff are...More

Don't pass up the chance to go to the Kimbell At Museum. Worried about the cost, don't worry anymore, on Sundays it's free. It's a wonderful museum filled with amazing art. Make sure to check it out.

Having been to museums all over the U.S. and in other countries, I was shocked at the experience my boyfriend and I had here. We'd come from a graduation ceremony and were dressed business casual. I carried a large purse and he had an over...More

The beautiful building and its architectural details are internationally known. The permanent collection is small but very high quality; often interesting visiting exhibits. Park-like setting, good art bookstore. Healthy lunch buffet is always worth it. Parking in lots on east side and parking garage underneath.

Most impressive permanent collection. The famous Card Players by Caravaggio in the flesh! The father of modern art in Fort Worth, Texas! And perhaps Michelangelo's first known painting, done at age 12 or 13. This is just for starters. Some other very noteworthy pieces also....More

I believe you were at the Amon Carter museum if you were seeing Remington and Russell works. It's next to the Kimbell.

We are both wrong. It was the Sid Richardson museum. I'll try and delete the post. Thank you. Btw, I don't know anyone named 'Darrell' or why Darrell responded. But, "whatever', Darrell".
How much time should I expect to spend exploring the entire collection? I am someone who looks at brushstrokes so I take an agonizingly long time.

The Kimbell has four permanent collection galleries spread between two buildings. Since you're a detailed looker, we would recommend 1.5–2 hours to explore the collection. If you choose to use an audio guide during your... More

I think an hour and a half would be plenty for most people.
