The average rating is simply due to the time of the month when we were able to go and the fact that this area of the state had an early Spring. We think the poor bluebonnet and paintbrush showing is simply due to an earlier than usual blooming season.

Nice little park with a pond and sports fields. Great place for evening photos if there are nice clouds in the sky. Can get crowded on the weekends so plan accordingly. Very close to the highway.

We came for the Bluebonnet trail in April. The park is nice because it has a small kids play area (toddler), though it is a tad run down. The water feature is nice. I particularly liked the wooded walking area.

Sadly, we were about two weeks too early to be able to appreciate the spectacular display the bluebonnets make when they're all in bloom. Nevertheless, we enjoyed what we did see! We drove 8-1/2 hours to see them so it really was a let-down to see them in their full glory, though!

Despite the name, there are NOT bluebonnets at Bluebonnet Park other than in April....sometimes...depends on the weather and such. Very nice park. Two play ground areas, public restrooms, a pond for fishing, baseball fields, covered picnic tables, a covered pavilion with tables. We've had a couple of birthday parties here and are always pleased. Warning - during baseball season (May... More

i have attended ballgames in the park area and have found a lack of parking. When no games are in process, you can visit the pond and playground and gazebo. I attended a memorial service/lunch in the gazebo last year. It was nice except windy through the openings. The park could be improved and updated. Nice place to picnic and... More

This is a nice park to visit at lunch and carry a picnic basket. I used to take my mom here and we'd just relax and enjoy the view.
