Visited on a Saturday and ate at the restaurant. Food was excellent and was Mediterranean style. We got the fruit and cheese tray that also had some olives to try in various styles. We each tried various options from the menu and were very pleased. We sat outside and had birds serenading us from the oaks and olive trees. Service... More

In usual fashion trying to avoid the crowds of Mothers Day, my Mom and I took a lunch trip to Sandy Oaks. The Orchard is beautiful and serene. The restaurant has delicious, fresh prepared food. Mom had the lasagna and meatballs which was out of the world and better than ANY other lasagna we've ever tasted. I had the grilled... More

The Sandy Oaks Olive Orchard was a fun surprise to us. Located about 20 minutes south of San Antonio and the River Walk, this several hundred acre parcel is beautiful. The owner of the property has build a beautiful farm with a tree-lined driveway, attractive buildings and landscaping, a nursery, and many, many acres of olives. We arrived around 11am... More

We went as a mixed group of men and women. The men were a little skeptical before the visit,, but because of the great tour given by Sandy, they enjoyed the tour more than the ladies. Although the ladies had a great time on the tour, they really enjoyed the shopping in the very nice retail store.. A private tour... More

If you are looking to start to grow your own olives, then this is the place to get your plants. They have a large selection of olive trees for sale and the grounds people know what you have to do to plane them. They offer tours, but we were too late for the tour. They have a cafe on the... More

I thought I knew things just by word of mouth, especially about eating right from Chief's like My Grandma, Mom, Aunt, Sisters and a few Executive Chiefs I've worked with in my lifetime... But none educated Me about The Healthy Benefits of Olive Oil. I am an Artist and am Talented in many Fields, but Extra Virgin Olive Oil is... More

The lunch served in the rustic building was great. There were large fruit and cheese platters on the table when we arrived. The main course was chicken which was very tender and juicy. Olive tea was interesting as was the olive jelly. We were given an olive oil hand cream as a gift. The tour was okay, the preparation room... More

We enjoyed a wonderful tour here given by the owner. She shared with us about the process of raising olives in Texas and the research she has done to find the correct trees. She also had her staff show us how they process olive oil which was very informative. We also enjoyed a nice lunch in her facility which featured... More

First, we now know more about olives and growing olives than we need to know. The tour was good but a little too long. Though we did have a real opportunity to meet Scruffy and he trotted along knowing we could be coached to give him many behind the ear scratches. The real surprise was lunch. The "Taste of Texas"... Tour takes about 30 minutes and is free. Some of it outside it was warm the day we went but Sandy tried to keep us in shade as much as possible, be careful of fire ants recommend closed toe shoes. Interesting information about olives, olive pressing and olive trees. Beautiful location pretty easy to find. Restaurant has interesting variety and... More
