I met 3 friends here for lunch. There was a large crowd and we did have to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated. I was very pleased with my combo lunch selection of a Reuben sandwich and sweet potato jalapeno soup. We also split a divine slice of carrot cake. I did manage to visit the cheese shop,... More

We really enjoyed our visit. Everyone was so kind. The village showcases lost skills with many talented artisans. Lots of good shopping too. Mr. Caleb in the blacksmith shop even forged us a nail. There is very definitely are particular religious perspective here.

Loved all of the different craftsmen and shops. My favorite was the cheese shop. Don't miss it. Not all of the shops were demonstrating their craft when we went. Wish they had been. What we did see was very interesting.

Great activities for kids. Lovely scenery. Great food. On weekends and spring break they have projects for kids like making a small basket and carving a wooden spatula. There's shopping too. It's a must see!

We visited this past weekend. We did not have time to do and see everyone on site, but we did have breakfast on site and visit the place where the cheeses are made and also the general store & market. Need to go back when we have more time. You could easily spend half a day to a full day... More

By visiting this place you can see how things can still be as they were in our not to distant past. You can visit different venues where you see how things were done in the past. This would be most excellent for kids of all ages (young and older).

We fell in love with this place. My son made a piece of pottery. The gift store has so many things you will never see anywhere else, like handmade brooms. The guy doing the Gristmill tour was so nice. Everyone was and they just radiate joy. We are coming back at Easter and bringing more family. Eat at the café.... More

The grounds are nice to walk around. We did view people working their craft. They were friendly and answered questions we asked. The work spaces are also shops. I would say the emphasis is more for shopping than showing craftsmanship. Courses are mentioned in each store but those need to be scheduled. While doing online research for activities at Homestead... More

We visited Homestead Heritage as part of a visit to Waco. It was a beautiful setting with many interesting buildings on a self-sustaining farm. Lunch at their cafe was very good. I had somewhat of an uncomfortable feeling while we were there; something didn't seem right to me. I was also intrigued by the clothing worn by the employees and... More

Interesting and delightful venue located just outside of Waco, Texas. If you want to step back in time and see true handcraftsmanship from beekeeping to furniture and pottery making to horse farming to weaving and spinning and cheese making, then this place is the place to go. An added plus is the Café Homestead, which offers a wonderful variety of... More
