We met some friends in the area for dinner. It was a nice night and a great time. Wish we could have spent more time walking around the area. There seems to be a lot to do and see around there.

My first visit was on a Friday afternoon and was surprised at how busy the place was. Ample food, beverage, and music but arrive early as the parking is a beat down!

Art District is an area the locals don't want people to find! Too late!!!! Need to make reservations ahead of time to many of the restaurants. Sign up for local Kettler Theatre venues

The Bishop Arts district is a fantastic, often overlooked corner of Dallas. The neighborhood has grown significantly over the past few years, and now includes many restaurants and shops. One could easily spend a morning or afternoon wandering in and out of shops while munching...More

I highly recommend spending some time here. The Bishop Arts District is just across the Trinity River from downtown and is in an older part of Dallas so the buildings have a lot of character and the neighborhood has a hip feel to it. Bishop...More

Bishop Arts District is a nice and locally resurrected part of town, with locally owned shop and restaurants. Its a great place to spend an afternoon walking around and taking in the Dallas craft and food culture.

Really cute area with quaint shopping and lots of restaurant choices. We ate at lockharts bbq, which develops a lunch line early on. You go to a corner to order your food and then they wrap it in brown paper and you go sit down....More

I'm sure you're kind of getting the idea, but the whole point of the district is that they're small, independent operators and there's quite a bit of variation. Information was easy to come by, and I'm not especially tech... More

Previous answers are excellent, Downtown is closest, but not walking, if they would finish trolley would add charm and option. Belmont Hotel in Oak Cliff, is an option but I think is really Pricy. Enjoy
