An enclosed butterfly garden makes TDG worth a visit, but there is so much more to see! Wonderful outdoor gardens full of Native Texas plants and butterfly friendly plants are educational as well as beautiful. A small art exhibit of local artists and a super little gift shop all add to the experience. Many great classes are available on a... More

This attraction has multiple offerings at one location. Not only is the butterfly-house filled with many species of large butterflies, but it it multiple levels to allow one to see the butterflies close-up as they coast by. The snake exhibit is less than spectacular, though, in a small building that requires a good deal of walking from the main attractions.... More

I stopped here with toddlers......my daughter really liked the butterflies and we even went back later in the day. My 2 yr old son was not as into it. But it was very neat to see all the butterflies in one place and it was nice that you could return later in the day (after naps if you have young... More

Visited with wifey in May 2016. We absolutely loved the Butterfly Arboretum! There were so many different types of butterflies. And also there are helpful staff to answer any questions you have. Be sure to look in the case to see live butterflies coming to life!

As a member of the Texas Discovery Gardens and Sammons Butterfly House, I can truthfully tell you that you won't be disappointed with the wonderful environment here! The rainforest inside and the butterflies and insects are fabulous. Butterflies from all over the world co-exist in this big, fabulous, greenhouse, full of tropical plants, rushing waterfalls and pools and thousands of... More

Admission for two adults and two children was $24. Entry is located at Gate 6 of the fairgrounds. I must admit, I am disappointed with the overall experience versus the admission price. The butterfly house was nowhere near the potential that it could be. The plus side was that there was a staff member that explained a display with many... More

The gardens were being redone when we went, so there was not much to see. I was very disappointed By the snakes in texas. This exhibit is advertised all over the area but basically there are maybe 8 snakes in small terrariums... The butterfly house however was reeeeally sweet!

We went here mainly to see the butterflies. Although ee were a little disappointed by the amount or variety we got to see it was something different to do. The sanctuary is a nice place to photograph and spend the time learning about butterflies. The garden was muddy because of the rain and we were the only ones there but... More

Best as a ftime filler. Good outdoor, nature place but best thing was the gift shop. The rest is small. It was great for getting kids out into nature for an hour

We went here on a gorgeous day in April and really enjoyed it. The highlight for the wife was the butterfly garden, while for me it was the snakes. This place is a lot smaller than the arboretum but not nearly as crowded. I liked it a lot and thought it was a high value activity. It is a great... More
