The trails are great and are used by a lot of people. There is trash absolutely everywhere. How does a refrigerator get thrown in a lake? This could be a very nice lake if it were cleaned up and people would stop being jerks.

This is a nice but not spectacular park. There is a paved trail that goes around the lake and attracts quite a number of bicyclists. However, for hikers the trail is not that shady, besides having to constantly make way for the cyclists. The different varieties of avian lives found here will appeal to bird watchers but the lake itself is not that scenic for photo enthusiasts. There are some restrooms along the trail but for some reason they were all locked when we visited in April. They do have a few portable toilets but not enough. The park is more suitable for families doing BBQ, but tourists can pass on this park.

Litter everywhere in the water!
Beautiful setting with a fabulous bicycle path all the way around it. Spoiled by litter everywhere at the waters edge . Plastic bottles, food canisters, diapers, straws, bags, wrappers and too many other things to mention. Really disappointing that no one takes care of this issue. We saw litter bins but they are clearly not used.

With family, friends or alone, White Rock Lake is the perfect place to pass the time. Living on White Rock Lake, my fur babies and I enjoy evening walks around the lake as we take in the sights. On any given day the well kept grounds and natural wind life, host picnickers, boaters, bikers, runners, walkers, marriage proposals, photographers, art lovers, relaxers and a roster of other lake enjoyers. There are several entrances to the lake grounds, including to the dog park; good idea to scope out your perfect entrance before arriving. Parking is only an issue during the holidays and special events, but look out for the bikers while taking your stroll, because they share a path with others. The best place for a Sunday drive of beautiful homes and a Dallas skyline. White Rock Lake is great place to drive around for the day. The sailboats were gorgeous. We have been going here for years and it always gets better.

Awesome walking path with a few water fountains for adults, kids and pets. Unfortunately the lake itself is filthy and the grounds are just as bad....very disappointing

We walk the lake from the north end near Northwest Highway whenever we are in Dallas and always enjoy the wildlife and the views.

Beautiful place to hang out with friends. The weather of the day we go was excellent, sunshine and blue sky, lovely people enjoy the good weather in different way. I would love to walk around the whole lake next time!

This park was simply beautiful. We were disappointed that the Arboretum was closed but we found this gem of a park right around the corner and it was very very nice. Big lake with a long walking trail. Just great for bikers and walkers alike.

Fishing is allowed with a permit. Permits can be purchased at the Lion mart convenience store on Gaston or any sporting good store. There are catfish, large mouth bass, carp and crappie in the lake. Fishing Permits are not expensive. Pay attention to catch limits and no fishing areas.

the answer to that question is YES quite a few water stations and a couple restrooms which, by the way, are pretty clean. enjoy your walk or bike ride around the beautiful lake!

I don’t think so. Swimming & alcohol is not allowed. Tried to contact a guy who works there, but he was on patrol. The liability for allowing grilling is too great, & not everyone is careful with fire, etc. Good luck!
