This is a must see. So miraculous to see the old ways of the pharmacy. Many many original bottles, potions, etc. Wonderful display from Medical equipment, Pharmacy and sundries. Beautiful setting in wonderful old building in Cuero on Main street. Persons we met that day were nice to talk to.
This is free but recommend you leave a donation as they are really doing great things saving memories and showing historical information and items.

We live in South Texas and have visited Cuero several times, although we never stopped in this museum, sometimes because it is closed on Sundays, other times because we were not aware it was such a special place. Special indeed, and a real surprise for a small town like Cuero. This museum is owned/runed by the City (another reason to not have high expectations). BUT WHAT A TREASURE IT IS! and it is free. Open Tuesday thru Saturday from 10 to 3. We enjoyed the tour by Jeremiah, a local resident who grew up here and knew the history. And he seemed to totally know all about the interesting items. Good job Jeremiah!

The Pharmacy and Medical Museum of Texas is so much more interesting and entertaining and cool than it sounds like it would be. We had wanted to go and check this place out for a really long time, and we were finally able to get there-- and it was SO worth the wait!!! Even if you aren't in the immediate area, I'd even recommend making a special trip that way to GET to the immediate area! The Reuss family has been in the pharmacy business in Cuero since 1845, and they NEVER threw anything away. Everything in the museum is original to Cuero and the Reuss or Butters pharmacies. Medications and bottles and equipment and fixtures and merchandise (from the old days, not current!) are all on display. And kids can see all the great stuff too. It has been so lovingly and carefully crafted into a REALLY special place. Definitely something that is NOT to be missed. Do yourself a favor and GO SEE THIS PLACE! It's free to get in, but PLEASEA leave them a donation because they are working on the upstairs which will be replicas of the old medical offices! A doctors office and a dentist and a veterinarian. Such a hidden gem in an unexpected spot. GO SEE THIS PLACE!!!!!

Stopped in while in town for some shopping. Never knew this was here before. Very interesting. LOTS to see. Original pharmacy cabinets and shelving. Lots of drug store paraphernalia from years gone by. Upstairs doctor and dentist offices set up like the early 1900’s. Would definitely go again if in town. And it’s free!

This place had been recommended to us by the hotel and proved to be good advice. Cuero is a quirky little Texas town but well worth a stop. The lady volunteers in the museum were extremely knowledgeable making this an interesting and educational visit.

We stopped in Cuero to stretch our legs whilst visiting Texas from the UK.
We almost walked past this museum but pushed open the door,,,,,,,,,
WOW! Both of us at the same moment.
Please don’t miss this wonderful collection, it is amazing and the curators were extremely helpful and informative. We are so glad that we stopped.
Thank you to everyone involved for preserving this fabulous gem.

This place was awesome. Free too ! Got to take the “guided tour “. The stuff I learned was crazy! I really had no idea what “meds” used to be used way back when.

10/28/2019 visited today, lots to see, and the nice ladies there will answer your questions. Well organized, working on upstairs to make the museum even larger. Beautiful collection of vintage items, covering all walks of life. Stop and see for your self, down town where they are has nice old frontier buildings for any who like architecture. Historic courthouse near by. Excellent stop for history buffs, highly recommend!
