looking around this museum I think about how hard it was in bygone days just to live. No auto's then just hard work and this museum is a great review of those days, no wonder they died at a early age.

We found this place on the internet and it sounds worth the trip off the beaten track. Got there and found it all locked up. No-one around town. Eventually found someone in the shop who directed us down the road to knock on a door...More

This museum is obviously a passion for locals. There is loads to see and plenty of interactive things for kids. A really enjoyable visit, well worth stopping off for.

We stumbled across this little museum somewhat by chance after our Motel in Wangaratta recommended the dredge. The director of the museum is an absolute gem of a lady who personally demonstrated how to pan for gold and showed us a number of unexpected treasures....More
