A FAMILY-FRIENDLY SHOW, where fictional characters bring to life the stories, struggles and triumphs of the Texas Panhandle's early 1800 settlers on stage of the Pioneer Amphitheater; located deep in the heart of the beautiful Palo Duro Canyon State Park. This was our second time to see the show. I think it continues to improve over the years. The cast is superbly talented. The show is entertaining, humorous at times, but fast paced. It tells a very good story.

The description on this sight is not completely accurate. It states fictional characters which is only partly correct.. The story is actually based with history of Charles Goodnight, an early pioneer of cattle ranching and cattle drives..he is also credited for invention of chuckwagon...great show!

Texas is a very good musical about the history of the state. I would recommend that everyone watch this play at least once. There is a optional dining experience as well. Makes for a great date night!

What a great show! Such a happy time and love - love - LOVE the patriotic ending! Went as a child and now have the pleasure of taking my own kids and friends. Have been every summer for 5 years now!
