Wonderful day trip from Houston and well worth the time and effort. Close to Brenham and there is plenty to do, see and eat in Brenham. The Official Cotton Gin Museum of Texas will not disappoint. If you are looking for spit shine and fresh...More

This is a great day trip from Houston. The gin and museum are worth the time. They also have a festival in April of every year where the Gin is operational. It is a great educational experience.

This is an amazing museum to visit! The docent that took us on the tour did a great job with everything from the history all the way to helping me purchase items in the gift shop. There is some walking and climbing up of stairs...More

The museum is small, by mighty. So full of education on how cotton was picked and processed before it goes to the textile. Learning about the cotton gin and why they do it the way they do. How hard it is to pick the seeds...More

This is a great tour with history of a cotton gin that is still functional, though it only operates a few times a year. You will want to take one of the guided tours offered at 10 am and 2pm.

The curator was funny, super informative, and helpful. We felt so welcome! They have a scavenger hunt for kids and an interesting video. Even if you don't tour the gin, it's worth stopping in. Great gift shop with lots of selection for all ages and...More

The curator, Jerry Moore, gave us one of the best guided tours I can remember. Full of stories designed to help one understand what it was like to grow and sell cotton in the 1920s. This is the oldest working, orginasl, cotton gin in America...More

We sold our home and land to travel. The old Andice Cotton Gin used to be on our property. It brought that all to life for us. The tour guide was knowledgable and good with people. There was a group of kids there and the...More
