Entertaining evening out with the cowboys and cowgirls
The rodeo itself was very exciting and entertaining to watch. I thought the ticket price to attend was reasonable. Watching people dance afterwards was fun and the band was great. The sponsor boards (although I understand they are necessary) are so distracting while watching the show because the screens are huge and sometimes the graphic is on a big white rectangle. Maybe they could be positioned somewhere else or graphics/ads improved so color is more dense and darker and not so much white. The facilities, rest rooms, etc were clean. The staff was very friendly. Two bottles of beer were over $20!! A little steep!!! That was disappointing. I’d still recommend it.
Hi Karen! We're so happy yall enjoyed the rodeo and dance! Thank you so much for joining us and for your feedback. I will share with our team to see if there's anything we can do on the big screen. In regards to the beer, do you think that was for 3 or 4 beers or maybe $20 was including tip? As of now, 2 beers should not have cost you over $20. We hope to see yall again soon! Thank you again for your support!

    Really good fun
Very well organised overall and we were given wristbands. Quite a small Rodeo overall, main arena for the Rodeo, a restaurant, a few stalls and then dancing and dining area but quite nicely done and quaint. Had a wander around, great for people watching as locals or tourists all in their cowboy hats and boots and double denim. The Rodeo itself was roughly 2 hours. They had various events, bull riding, barrel racing, lassooing, mutton busting for the kids. Lots of talking in between by the host, too much, and also advertising was a bit full on. After the rodeo finished the live music started, nice country music and people were dancing. Overall definitely an experience that was good to do as a tourist and the food from the stalls was good vs the quite pricey saloon restaurant.
Thank you so much for joining us! We are very grateful for your support and the time you took to share your experience. We're so happy to hear yall enjoyed your time here. It's an honor to be able to give you a taste of our western lifestyle. We're sorry you thought the announcer talked a lot. It is pretty typical at rodeos for the announcer(s) to talk between contestants competing as it sometimes takes bull riders a minute to get set on their bull and ready to ride or barrel racers and their horses a minute to get down the alley way. Instead of sitting and waiting in silence we like to talk about the contestants, their horses, their accomplishments, the history of the event, the specifics about the event such as what a good time in our arena is, the penalty for breaking a barrier or hitting a barrel, etc. We find most of our spectators enjoy learning more about the sport and our cowboys and cowgirls competing. We also like to shout out our sponsors as they play a big part in helping us to produce our rodeo. We wish you all the best and hope to see you again if you're ever in the area!

Best place to experience “Texas” in one night!
I’ve taken guests out to Tejas Rodeo twice in the past month. Such a fun taste of Texas. Plan ahead for the steakhouse with a reservation. The food and service are fantastic! Family Friendly and reasonably priced. The Rodeo show is entertaining and leaves you feeling… like an AMERICAN 🇺🇸 I love the prayer before it all begins, I love standing for my Flag. Music after for those who want to dance… from 3-90+ the whole family is welcome. I LOVE this place! 👍
We love this so much and are so grateful you chose to bring your friends and family here with you! We're grateful for the opportunity to entertain yall and give them a taste of Texas! We hope to see you again soon!

We purchased Skybox seats over 2 months ago. We paid a lot of money for these tickets. Our seats were behind a 3 foot beam, blocking about 75% of the rodeo. And to make more money, Trejas folks added a row of seats directly in front of us.

We couldn't see about 90% of the show. And for the 3 of us, it cost $230! And this is considered "skybox"?

Save your money and do something else.

We're so sorry you didn't enjoy the Skybox seating. This did come to us as a surprise as most of our guests who sit here love this area as it is a reserved, elevated platform and has a great view of the arena. The beams are a part of the arena's structure and are located around the perimeter to hold up the roof so unfortunately, that's something we have to live with but thankfully the action takes place all over the arena. We're sorry the row of seating in front of you came as a surprise. These are shown on the seating chart when customers select their seat and we intentionally use regular chairs on the front row and barstools behind them since they sit much higher allowing customers to see over their heads. We will look further into this to evaluate whether we need to make any changes as our customer's experience is very important to us. Again, we're so sorry we didn't meet your expectations and appreciate your feedback.

We made our reservation for dinner at the steakhouse a few weeks in advance. So glad we did! The meal was excellent and our waitress was sweet! The KC steaks were perfect. Their queso was our favorite, and we ordered queso at many places during our trip. But don't worry if you can't eat at the steakhouse. The Rodeo had food and beers also! We hit up the gift shop and then enjoyed the rodeo! Loved the local feel! Prayer and patriotism at their finest. The crowd ranged from infants to the elderly and every age in between. Afterward, the band started and the locals danced the night away. Some kind young gentlemen invited us to give the 2-stepping a try and a few of us did! Such fun!! We loved how all the families hung out, enjoying the company, the beer, the food, and the music! As tourists, we felt like we lucked out in finding this local gem. We really felt like we experienced what being a Texan is all about! LOVED IT!

Took two 17 and one 15 year old boys to the rodeo on March 25th and sat in the Skybox against the rail. Good view and didn't have to worry about getting there too early for seats. We enjoyed the presentation of the colors (horseback) along with the accompanying prayer. Had a bit of everything except bronc riding and kept it moving along. Skilled riders and more skilled bulls. Food and band were good. Would recommend to all ages as it had something for everyone.

My first time at a rodeo and loved it. Enjoyed great food at the steakhouse. The rodeo had a great variety of events for everyone including kids. The music was even great during the rodeo. The dance afterwards was a perfect way to end the night. I’d definitely recommend to anyone coming to visit San Antonio or the surrounding area!!

Being new to the area and an avid cw dancer and after hearing from an acquaintance of Tejas Rodeo Co I checked out their web site. Only about 20 miles from my new domicile, this place sounds great. Jodi Nix is exactly my kind of music. I will go early, try out their restaurant, check out the parking situation, and figure the logistics involved in a night out at the Tejas Rodeo.

I arrive about 6:40 late Friday afternoon. “Wait to be Seated” the sign said. I approached the hostess and held up one finger and requested a booth for one. Not saying a word the hostess froze and stared at the seating chart on her podium. I then noticed that there were not many booths. I tried to break through her comatose state by interjecting the fact that I didn’t need a booth. Still not speaking the hostess looked around and appeared to be confused. Thinking that the wait time might be long, I then informed her that I was in no hurry at all. I could see that there were two couples waiting when I walked in. Still not a word from the young hostess. She looked around, walked back through the kitchen doors and was gone for a few minutes. While I admired the local “cowboy” décor and waited for the hostess to respond to my request awkwardness set in. Had the hostess decided to just ignore me? And why? I was clean shaven, had just showered, and dressed in a long sleeve dark gray paisley oxford shirt, Wranglers, and my black ostrich leg Larry Mahan boots. Not particularly short or tall I even appeared to be the same race as all the people around me. After way too long the hostess finally spoke. I was informed that it would be better if I dined outside. I received no explanation. Was reservation required? Was the wait time two hours? Was closing time approaching? Does this restaurant not seat single people? Why would it be better to dine outside? The place didn’t seem particularly crowded. I didn’t want to dine outside.

I chose to just leave. I texted my friend that was going to meet me later for a night of dancing that I was leaving so she cancelled also. I prefer to check out a venue before I suggest or invite friends for a night out. I have crossed Tejas Rodeo Co. off my list and deleted it from my bookmark list.

As foreign tourists, we always run the risk to incur tourist traps. I mean, many rodeos and other similar shows are tailor made for the tourist. That doesn’t make them necessarily bad, but at least not authentic.
This doesn’t happen at the Tejas Rodeo in Bulverde. This is the real stuff, where the locals meet on saturday nights March to November to see the rodeo, eat, enjoy some live country music and dance.
People come here in their cowboy boots and stetson hats, bring their family to an enjoyable night out. And there are so many young people.
It’s an open-pro rodeo, non professional.
They do the bull riding, cow-roping, and other shows, and kids are also welcome to sheep-riding, which is so much fun I rolled on the ground laughing.
For us it was unbelievable that they sing the national anthem before the show, we never do that in Italy, it was very emotional.
The rodeo takes 90 minutes and after that, you can have dinner at various spots. Brisket is, of course, the best way to fit in and look like a local.
And then you can two-step or line dance with the live band.
We really had the time of our lives and regret that something like that does not exist where we live.

I'm thrilled to hear you had such a spectacular visit from Italy! Thanks for taking the time to come check out our rodeo while you were in Texas and for making sure to check out all the festivities. The rodeo has always been a special place to us, and we're honored to have the privilege to share that experience with travelers from all over. If you ever find yourself back in the area, we'd love to have you back for another rockin' rodeo time. All the best, Tom Ozene, General Manager

Staying in San Antonio for 2 nights came travelled about 30 minutes to come here. Planned the entire trip 2 months in advance, purchased Rodeo tickets on line, read all the Q&A on the website. Really wish they mentioned having to call for a reservation for dinner. We got there at 5 pm as the website stated the restaurant was busy on Sat. I wasnt aware you had to call for a reservation beforehand and the website only offered an email and a phone number but didn't say you need a reservation to eat here. I would give it 3 stars because of that. Travelled all the way from NJ and now lost out on that experience. Yes they have a taco stand and burgers and meat sandwiches but I wanted to eat in the restaurant for the experience. I didnt need another pulled pork sandwich. Walkws down to Spechts to eat. A good 15 minute walk in Texas heat but they were so nice and the food was worth it considering I threw out my pulled pork sandwich that was cold. I honestly think that because we got there so early expecting to be seated the outside food stand wasnt quite ready to serve but we didnt have many choices. The rodeo itself would get 5 stars and the cool band after. That's what we wanted out of Texas and definitely a must see if you have the time. I say go to Spechts first to eat and check out the place. Its really cool. Back in time little bar and outside area to eat. Cool old time knickknacks. Then go to the rodeo right down the street.

We first want to thank you so much for coming to Tejas Rodeo on your trip to Texas! We're so glad you enjoyed the rodeo and dance but are saddened you weren't able to eat in the steakhouse as you wished. Generally you are able to get into the Steakhouse without a reservation with Saturdays being the exception as it is an extremely busy night with the rodeo. We are generally able to get you in for dinner but the wait time is long and sometimes overlaps with the start of the rodeo which I'm sure you didn't want to miss! We appreciate your feedback and have updated our website stating we strongly recommend reservations. Thank you again and we hope you'll come see us on your next trip so we can make it up to you!

This was our family's first rodeo, and it was the perfect choice. They did a good mixture of bull/ horse riding, and my favourite was when they made little kids ride sheep! It was excellent. Then, the night got 100x better when we went to the steakhouse for dinner. IT WAS AMAZING! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful about helping us choose what to order. Apparently we made the right choice because it was hands down the best steak I have ever eaten. It was absolutely delicious. I definitely 100% recommend this to everyone of all ages. Our party had people aged 6-80 and everyone loved it thoroughly!
