The museum is located above the Brownwood Visitors Center in the restored Santa Fe Depot and Harvey House. Open by request from the tourism office, it is filled with pictures and memorabilia dedicated to the career of Coach Gordon Wood, 'the winningest high school football coach in Texas", and his legacy of outstanding players and coaches. The display winds through 3 rooms and is an interesting journey through Texas football's past. Recommended for fans and sports historians.

If you like Texas High School Football, and know the history of some it's greatest coaches, you should check out the Gordon Wood Hall of Champions Museum in Brownwood. It is both entertaining and interactive and is a great example of how to memorialize a giant in the game. You will see and hear Coach Wood describe some of his most exciting moments, fantastic wins and heartbreaking losses. You'll also hear other great coaches like Grant Taft and Bum Phillips talk about Coach Wood's ability to bring the very best out of every young athlete he coached.
