Step in the warm and welcoming world of one of Texas's best-known statesmen at this site in Bonham. A 1930s radio, photos of Franklin Roosevelt, period china and other Rayburn family treasures greet you as you stroll through the 1916 home and grounds. Fondly known as Mr. Sam, Rayburn was one of the most powerful and influential politicians in the 20th century, serving 24 terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. His 1947 Cadillac, a historic smokehouse, barn, and garage complete the homestead of this true American patriot.

We had a great time exploring the house and grounds of the Sam Rayburn House. All of the furnishings belonged to Sam Rayburn and are original to the home. His cars and trucks are very cool! Lots of history here!!

The tour guides really know their stuff. I learned so much about Sam Rayburn and his family. They have preserved many artifacts and the house is amazing. I would recommend going to the library and museum too.
