Interesting photographic record of the Galveston Storm, with accompanying descriptions plus a touching documentary. Local interest history throughout plus the story of a local, very famous, female bullfighter.
An enjoyable visit.

This was a great experience. The folks that work there are super friendly, sharing their own stories about the area and community. The exhibits are eclectic and interesting created through contributions of current, previous or historical Big Spring community. Doll and toy, clothes and hats, local iconic, longhorn steer horns, old west rifles and gun collections and more. Great videos regarding area history.

We stopped her to break up the drive to Big Bend National Park. We were impressed by their collection and how interactive the exhibits were. Super friendly staff and interesting exhibits on the local oil refinery. Also props to the staff for having a creepy doll display. Don't miss the world's largest longhorns, which are mixed in with the other longhorns, so enjoy the challenge!! Clean restrooms as well. If you're looking for a stop on the way to Midland/Odessa, don't look any further!

I moved to Big Spring a couple of years ago and had never been to the museum. It was closed during the pandemic. My 6 yr old granddaughter was here so we decided to visit. There was a local photography show hanging, it was nice. Upstairs we found a veritable time capsule of Big Spring. If you are into Railroad History, it's pretty interesting. There is a large collection of toys and dolls that my granddaughter deemed "creepy". There is a fantastic display and voice recorded biography of a female bullfighter from the area. Also a very old, very cool, collection of guns.

The lady in the gift shop, I think her name was Cheryl is super friendly and interesting and honestly, my favorite part of the museum.

This is a great little museum. It has a lot of information about the history of the area. And an impressive collection of dolls and horns. It’s not far off of the interstate and would be a good place to stop and stretch your legs for an hour.

My husband and I enjoyed the museum as soon as we walked in the doors. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My favorite part was a book of old letters written between family members.

This is the type of small town museum I always hope to encounter on road trips. They are full of local history and staffed by wonderful locals who really care about their town. My young son and I had a really nice time here. The lady at the front desk was so nice and fun to talk to...she was 84 years old too which makes it even more special. At 3 dollars for adults and 2 for kids...what a deal. Big Springs should really be proud of this museum.
