We moved to Fort Hood and our home was not ready yet. We ended up staying in the cabins on BLORA for over 30 days. The staff are great and very friendly. The cabin is what it is. Nothing special, the internet works when it wants to, they have bugs and the shower dripped all night long. That all being said, the location is great and for the price we had room as a family vs being stuck in a hotel for that length of time.

Visited again for the Christmas light show which is seconf to none. Hundreds of Christmas themed lighted displays. A great time for anyone during the Holidays. It is located on Fort Hood. There is a fee to enter and during anytime oof the year they have camping areas , boat rentals and cabins to stay in. A great place to spend a day on Belton Lake

Amazing price for what you get. Wish the bed and decor were a little updated but this is the military we are talking about! Great for kids (so many parks).

I took my young nieces for the day. Enjoyed the cool water and clean facilities. We took a picnic lunch and had a fun time.

Every year we go to see the Christmas lights we have a great time. My son loves it. We decided to go last night, and were told some of the lights did not work because of flooding (which is understandable it's not their fault) it was not just some lights almost ALL of the lights were out. We drove through what lights they put together took 5 minutes at most. So if you go and they tell you "some" lights are not working turn around. It's not worth it.

Hard to locate, but this park has a lot of outdoor recreation. In the summer, there is swimming, boating, and hiking. The entrance fee is reasonable. There are cabins that you can rent. There is a horse-riding business, but it is not actually part of the park. The horse riding is a separate fee.

The lights are amazing and it made for a wonderful trip with our kids. We did this on Christmas Eve so it was incredibly crowded car line, but once we got in it went smoothly. So I would recommend doing it well before Christmas week or after. About a 40 minute drive or so from our home in Salado.

This is a great place for military members and their families. The large park offers horseback riding, hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, camping and cottages rentals.
