A small but interesting museum. No guided tours offered and a self tour can be accomplished in 30 minutes. Parking can also be a problem.

The kids museum is always full of locals and our kids ask to go every couple of months. I love learning about the local history as a recent arrival.

We visit at least 2 times a year, or when kiddos visit..no food or drink allowed except in entry area for a small gathering, or party. Open to the Public. MUSEUM, UPSTAIRS, Specials during the Year also Displayed upstairs, Quilt Show. ARTIST displayed. The LaBelle...More

The main floor has great history from Matagorda County throughout while the basement level is hours of fun for the little ones!

The Children's museum is AMAZING! The "big kid" museum is filled with such wonderful treasures from Matagorda County's past. We LOVE this place!

Learned a lot about La Belle, the sunken steamboat which was found in mud in 1995. Nice artifacts from it. Staff was friendly
