Its easy to get around. We were new in town but managed to find all the restaurants and places we needed. Maxine's and Viejo had delicious dinners.

Lots of little restaurants and shops; street parking available. We parked a couple of locks away and walked to a restaurant for lunch, then went to the Post Office nearby.

Whether you're window shopping, eating, finding hidden treasures, or simply getting out of the hustle and bustle...what a great way to spend a day, strolling Bastrop's Main Street Historic District

Just not worth a day trip. At the very minimum this town should be attracting as many tourists as Salado, but the downtown is really dead. Stores holding irregular hours and nothing to catch the eye of tourist.

Going to Bastrop State park gave us the opportunity to check out the town. Being here for about 5 days we went through all the quaint little roads in the historic area. Gorgeous homes

I know some of the restaurants are open on Sunday but may close late afternoon. Download the app for Bastrop it has a lot of great information and hours of operation.
