The Eagle Watch in February is the high point of the season here. Next is the pontoon boat tours. For people who are here to fish, this is the cats pajamas. Crappie by the millions most of the year. Put out four poles and get...More

Reelfoot Lake State Park provides easy access to a unique lake up in the NW corner of Tennessee. A great place to fish, camp and birdwatch, the low water areas full of cypress trees and knees impart a mysterious feel to the shoreline. In the...More

With a great view of the lake, plus a fishing pier, this park offers lots of picnic tables and grill for you to cook on. Family friendly, it's a great place for a weekend visit.

We didn't get to experience the Visitor's Center because of late arrival on one day and interruption of service the following day by a storm. We also visited one day too early for a seasonal pontoon boat tour of the lake (starts May 1), but...More

This was my first trip to the Reelfoot Lake area, and the Reelfoot Lake State Park was very much worth the stop, if you want to learn about the history of the area, and they have a 'nature walk' where was very interesting. The nature walkway...More

Cypress trees/knees growing in Lake. Hear the story of formation and how the Mississippi River ran backward in the earthquake of 1812 (?). Unusual scenery and takes little time to learn quite a lot of history. Fishing is big here also.

The GPS led me a bit astray and finding the visitor's center proved a challenge to me. The history of the lake, being created by an earthquake fascinates me. The cypress trees are beautiful. The visitor center proper is older in style, but they have...More
