I went on the one hour horse back riding tour and it was excellent! Jesse was the guide and he was awesome! He even took pictures while we were headed back to the stable! Be sure to request him! I had never ridden a horse before, but because of Jesse’s instructions I was very comfortable on X-Man! If you have a chance to go here, do it!

What a wonderful time. The grandkids, Emma 9, and Benjamin 6 just loved the whole experience. Emma's favorite was the Reindeer. Ban's favorite (are you sitting down? LOL) was the Pot-Bellied Pig for some odd reason. Camels, exotic cows from foreign lands, Goats galore, and Ben chose the "pig". It was hilarious.
The kids were allowed in the Goat pen and were encouraged to pick up the baby goats. This exercise was hilarious by itself. The kids were inquisitive, engaged, and above all, well-behaved. For their good behavior, they also got to ride the ponies after the petting portion.

Our family, including a 10yo and 13yo, did horseback riding here. We had a great time! Horses were very gentle. An easy ride for first-timers, and their rates were great! They do book up a few days in advance, so make reservations ahead of time. The views along the trail are beautiful! We would definitely do this again!

We had a good experience. Our kids enjoyed feeding all the animals. We were debating between this zoo and Parrot Mountain for today. The zoo was a little less expensive, and we thought the variety of animals would keep the kids more engage. It’s by no means a fancy place. You can feed almost all of the animals by hand though, which makes it a bit unique. I think it’s worthwhile for a couple hours of fun with small kids.

We took our family here over the summer and had a great time! The kids LOVED the goats. It was really awesome that they allow you to pet and pick up the baby goats. My younger kids (ages 2 & 5) would have stayed in the goat exhibit for an hour if I'd have let them! I took the older two (ages 9 & 11) on a horse back ride. The path had many shady places, which was much appreciated given the heat. Our tour guide, JESSE WAS AMAZING!! He can talk to anyone about any topic. He made the trip so interesting and informative. He's the kind of person you'd want to sit around the campfire at night and listen to his stories. We couldn't have been more impressed with him! Before we left, we took the younger 2 on the pony ride, and they really enjoyed that!

Do you allow double riding at your stable? Our grand daughters will be 2 and almost 5 when we come in October.

Yes they do!!!! We saw a mom with an 9 month old in a front pack ride and we also checked in with another couple who had a 2 and 4 year old who went. These guys are soooo awesome
We’d love to do everything while we’re there, but if we want to do only horseback riding, can we do that without paying admission to the petting zoo? Or is admission required in order to access the stables? Thanks!

You can do it without paying the petting zoo admission. When you are driving in, there will be one road to take for the petting zoo and one to take for the horse stables. They are in different areas.

Does it cost extra to go in with Fallow deer?

Not at all but the deer will expect you to have some food with you! Lol. That of course you can purchase when you pay to get in and you can always buy refills as well. It's not expensive and you will have a wonderful time!! 😁

My husband and I are going to the Smokies for our anniversary. Is this petting zoo enjoyable for adults who love animals or is it more just for small children?

Yes...we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Fun for kids and adults alike.
My 4.5 year old rides (just came of her lead line). Would she be able to ride alone or still have to ride with an adult?

Hi Kat! She would absolutely be able to ride her own horse at our stables! If you have any other questions or would like to make a reservation (walk-ins are also welcome) please call our stables at 865-429-2276. Thanks so much for considering our stables on your visit!

Are we able to bring our dog with us?
SmokyMtnDeerFarm
Sevierville
Hi Holly!
Although we'd love to accommodate dogs, we can't let them inside the petting zoo. No matter if it's the smallest teacup Chihuahua or a Great Dane, our deer catch their scent and it can cause them to panic (as natural prey animals they see dogs as predators). For everyone's safety (human and animal) we can't allow any dogs inside the zoo. Thanks for understanding!

I would like to know more about your horses. My son has autism and is non verbal, would someone be able to ride with him or walk beside him for that ride? We are planning to come sometime this summer.
