Had the pleasure of camping at the Roan Mountain State Park campground. The attendant went out of her way to be accommodating, the site was quiet and peaceful. The bathhouse was extremely clean.

The cabins at Roan Mountain State Park are absolutely delightful. Our favorite is #12 because it sits up on a hill and view from porch looks through the trees. Cabin is clean and well outfitted with furniture. A few things you need to bring from...More

We've been visiting Roan Mountain State Park for the last 30 years. It is our happy place. We camped in the tent sites on this trip and had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect! A multitude of outdoor adventure awaits.

So much to do and so little time. We ended up hiking part of the AT and enjoyed every minute of it. The scenery is amazing from woods, to grassy vistas, to rocky outcrops. We didn't have time to do everything due to a storm...More

The mountains are prettier in the mist and rain. I prefer them in this weather than in the fall with all the garish colors or in the sun, when the air is dead without the sound of water falling on those giant Rhoddie leaves.
