This is a costly place to visit, but so worth it for how much the kids enjoyed it. I enjoyed it just as much and it brought back a lot of memories from my childhood.

The grandchildren really enjoyed this. They got to play in the dirt!! Thought pricing was a little steep. You pay for the buckets of dirt and then if you want to put gems in some form of jewelry then its more.

We have done gem mining at several places, mostly connected to golf courses. Here you got more sand with gems and fossils for the price. We actually came back for a second round because the kids loved it so much.

I have attempted for two years in a row to purchase the same 67lb geode. Last year (October 2016), I offered $550.00 for a 67lb amethyst geode. After much negotiation, the store offered it at $600.00. I decided to pass. This year, (October 14, 2017),...More

Every time we go to Pigeon Forge it is a big deal to go and mine for gems. I got the big bucket this time and was disappointed this time. More money and less gems. Don't forget to get a coupon out of the books...More

This place combines fun activities, mining lessons, and gathering rocks for a super fun family adventure. If you have kids that like to DO stuff instead of just watching TV, they will be super happy here. Something for everyone, including the parents. The general store...More

My husband and I shared a $50 bucket (the Smokey Bear, I think). We got a cool variety of gems and a good amount of them too! The bucket came with a voucher for a free 1 Ct. Cut stone (either white topaz or smokey...More

Our two small boys had a ball sifting thru a $35 bucket. We chose one they offer specifically for kids, which includes minerals & gems, but also teeth, shells, & fossils, because those are more interesting to the little ones. We had them identified afterwards,...More

I don't know their exact hours, but we went there fairly early one weekday, because it was a priority activity, and they were open and ready. I'm sure their hours are posted on their website.
