Established July 2012. Hank, Johnny, Chet, George, Tammy, Conway, Loretta, Dolly, Willie . . . There was a time when country music was on a first name basis with its fans. A time when the streets of downtown Nashville were alive with the sound of backroom guitar pulls, Midnight Jamborees and the Grand Ole Opry. Now you can recapture the magic of this golden era on the Walkin' Nashville Music City Legends Tour. Packed with history and behind-the-scenes anecdotes about your favorite country legends, this 90-minute walking tour tells the real story of how Nashville came to be called Music City. You'll see Printer's Alley, The Ryman Auditorium, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, Ernest Tubb Record Shop and Hatch Show Print.Your friendly guide is Grammy-nominated journalist and musician, Bill DeMain. A longtime resident of Nashville, he will show you hidden corners of the city not found in any guidebook and tell you stories you won't hear on any other tour. From APRIL - OCTOBER, tours run Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday. From NOVEMBER - MARCH, tours run Friday & Saturday only (weekdays available by special arrangement for groups of 8 or more)Start Time: 10:30 AM (Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in)Tour Length: Approx. 2 Hours

My wife and I spent the last 5 days in Nashville and one of the highlights of the trip was the Walkin' Nashville - Music City Legends Tour. Bill was extremely knowledgeable and friendly... and he opened our eyes to much of downtown Nashville, the cool stuff you'd find off Broadway. It really helped us get a lay of the... More

What a great tour of Nashville. Bill is an outstanding guide and works to engage with his tour guests. You can tell by his energy he really enjoys giving the tours and sharing music history about Nashville. This was a great way to spend 2 hours during our time in Nashville. Amazing tour with unique stories- many first hand accounts from our guide. Our teens enjoyed it just as much as we did. A wealth of info and a refreshing change for tours.

Don't miss Bill! Not only is he incredibly well-versed in music and local history, he presented a thematic talk on the evolution of country music from its hill country roots to the Nashville Sound and up to today's productions.

Just brilliant - Bill is so knowledgeable and articulate. A real insight into Nashville's musical history - loved every minute. Polished, professional and for us Brits, a good, clear, talking voice. We visited a restaurant that night that he recommended - we would never have gone without the background he gave us and we had a blast. Thanks Bill. Cannot... More

Bill's tour is very informative and interesting, especially if you are a lover of traditional country music. He is incredibly knowledgeable and even sends an email with additional information and links afterward. Our tour lasted a little over two hours and included 18 people. There was no problem hearing because Bill uses an amplifier...and he is obviously passionate about music... More
