We spent a few hours at the Belle Meade Plantation and we're not disappointed. The history recorded, buildings visited and knowledge and helpfulness of the tour guides was exceptional. We also really enjoyed the wine tasting that followed. This is a worthwhile stop when visiting...More

This should be on every history lover's Nashville short list. The tour guides are very well informed and funny and I believe they were all volunteers. In addition to the tour, you also get a wine tasting included and the wines were really good! We...More

I first thought "Oh no, another cotton plantation." It was a totally delightful surprise that it raised famous race horses including the ancestors of American Pharoah and many more. We enjoyed the wine tasting also and continue to order wine on a regular basis. Truly...More

Love all the history and if you are a fan of horse racing, you must stop. They include wine tasting, which is always a plus. Leave plenty of time to just explore the grounds.

I expected so much more from this "plantation". We saw two horses in the field and that was it. The best thing about it was the gift shop - filled with great horse themed gifts. Lovely grounds but not worth the admission.

Most everything is original and tour guides provide great background information about its inhabitants and furnishings. We combined a visit here with a visit to Andrew Jackson's Hermitage and it made for a lovely day. Beautiful grounds include a winery.

I really enjoyed this tour. The guide was amusing and told us stories about the owners of the mansion and plantation. So many people died here one might think it's cursed. There is also a winery that sells excellent wines. They ship, or you can...More

Thank you. I loved this place because it's not "cleaned up" for the tourists. I was really pleased to have the whole story including the story of the slaves and what their life was like. I'm not black but I really appreciated the truth and...More

We took the tour and it was very educational about not only the mansion, but about the people who owned it. They are restoring it and our tour guide explained that process also

We did not do Belmont so I cannot comment on that. Between Belle Meade and the Hermitage, both very interesting and both very different. Belle Meade is larger and you can actually enter the rooms in the home, whereas The... More

How long does this tour take? I've already purchased tickets for a 10:30-11:15 tour on a weekday. We definitely want to do the wine tasting when the tour ends. Friends of mine have invited us to have lunch at a restaurant about 20 min. away from the Plantation at 1:30 the same day. Will we be able to meet them? Thanks

Tour is about 30-45 minutes. It's only the mansion that is guided that requires tickets. The grounds can be walked before. Arrive at 9:50. By the time you park and get checked in, it will be 10:00. The grounds can be... More
