This was my second visit to the Hermitage. And I still enjoyed my time there. The actual museum is fine but the highlight of the experience is the property. The main house has a guided tour with over 80% actual artifacts from when Andrew Jackson...More

The museum is a great spot to visit, and the tour guides were outstanding; both in information and personalities. Over ninety percent of the furnishings are original.

Nashville isn't just Country music (although that's great); there's so much history. The Hermitage, former home of Andrew Jackson, offers a great walking tour at your on pace.

What a wonderful visit we had at the Hermitage. This is our 3rd Presidential home, and we did truly enjoy the visit. There is a family rate, I believe it was $52 for my family of four to gain access to this home. It started...More

I visited this historic home in the 4th grade as i went to Castle Heights in Lebanon. That was 49 years ago and what a difference now, guides in period costumes convey a wealth of little known facts about Jackson.

Our family Loves coming here each year. We always discover something new each time we visit. They have special events through the year, but the carriage tour rides are our favourites.

Excellent tour of Jackson's home and property, as well as a very interesting and well-done museum. After our visit, I have such a good understanding of this man and his place in history. We were struck by the similarities of the political landscape in Jackson's...More

I think Andrew Jackson was a bit too bloody for me, but its very interesting to visit, and learn more about this crazy President, and life back in the bad old days. The main house is beautiful and preserved as are the slave quarters on...More

We only took the general admission, but the audio machine you can use for a self guided tour was sufficient in my opinion.

They sell beverages at several locations so no need to pack your own. The length of the walk is up to you. For just the house and gardens probably less than 1 1/4 miles. Is tour all of the hounds maybe 3 miles?
